Our Friendly Ghost

Posted on October 5, 2008

Hello again. I have had many experiences throughout my life so you will find several stories from me.

So this was about nine years ago. We bought our first home. A house that was built in the early 1950′s. Our son wad between one and two years old. We had been in the house for only a short time when I started to notice things missing. Silly things like a salt shaker or a pizza cutter. I didn’t bother to tell my husband, I thought it was just me.

We had installed a security door in the door which we locked every night along with the interior door. Shortly after we would wake up to the interior door unlocked, open and leaning up against the door jam. The first couple times my husband and I blamed it on each other. Thinking that the other had not closed the door and locked it before bed.

The next thing to happen was when some picture frames I had on our bedroom dresser were laid down on their fronts. Of course my husband did not confess to this. Why would he do that. And because of a past experience he had had with the paranormal, he was not one to play jokes in that manner.

So one night I awakened, no idea why and I looked directly at out bedroom door as it was opening by itself. It didn’t scare me, I just turned around and went back to sleep. I did mention this and my husband said the night before the exact same thing had happened to him. So nothing that ever happened scared us, it was like we had an invisible friend.

But, there was once incident that did scare me. My son and I arrived home after shopping or something. At the time we had a lab who stayed outside most of the time. In the back of the house I had these windows that opened from left to right and I could open them how ever far I wanted and then lock them in place. So I did this when I left. I would say I left them open about five inches. Anyway, we came home and my son went right to his room and I walked into the kitchen when I immediately noticed the screen was out of one of the windows. This is what scared me. My first thought was that someone has gotten into the house.

I grabbed a butcher knife and went to  find my son. I looked in all the closets, under the beds… nothing. So then I thought, that dog jumped on the screen and pushed it out. Upon further inspection, no damage at all was done to the screen. It was laying neatly up against the wall. If the dog has pushed it in, it would have been bent and the blinds would have been messed up. The screens were held in by the prongs that you unscrew to loosen… those were completely intact. No damage was done to anything and the window was still locked in the same place it was when I left it. I then knew it was our friend. So I asked him to please not do things that. He could be putting my family in harm. It seemed like after that he left. I was a little sad that our friend was gone.

  2. Warrior Priestess says:

Well, its strange, it was perhaps a poltergeist, or maybe it was a confused spirit, which would explain the strange activities, almost like it merely wanted attention, and once you gave it, the spirit was satisfied and left…
