Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

First off, I want to say that I’m not a professional writer, and I am only sixteen. I haven’t had any experience of this particular ghost or demon since I was 9. I also cant find anymore information from my family about this ghost as they have always refuse to talk about it, until recently, but a lot is still unclear. I would also like to add these event are not in chronological order, but are only ordered how they link to each other.

Firstly I want to give some background information on where I lived, and the house. I live in Chepstow, Wales. there are a lot of old buildings and have heard of several hauntings but have never  thought to look into them. My house was build in 1994, just a few months before I was born. It was separate from the other builds. As my dad bought the land and built the house with other family builders/plumbers or electricians. So there had been no previous houses to my knowledge.

My earliest memory is seeing this ghostly figure, I was around 2/3, just near the time where I could walk and talk at a reasonable standard. Our toilet door was next to the bottom of our stairs, I remember crying and running out of the toilet screaming about a tall elderly woman at the top of our stairs. But apparently ever since I could crawl I used to sit and stare at the top of my stairs, and my mum always got spooked when I spoke about the woman. (although I didn’t find out about this baby think until I asked about it tonight).

She was about as ‘tall as my mum’ which is 5’11, and had permed hair, the woman was in a long pink dirty dressing gown. She had saggy skin around her face. I can only describe her as rough.

Seeing her upstairs always scared me about being upstairs alone and I used to sing to myself to block out any sounds.

I continued to see this woman out of the corner of my eye until I was 9 years old; without fail she would be stood there. This is why I can roughly explain her so well. However I didn’t see her face until I was eight or nine, my mum is reluctant that this event never happened, but I am adamant that it did.

Basically, I had a bunk-bed, although there was no bottom bunk it was like a study/play area. I had always, as I can only explain ‘sway’ or ‘rock’ in my sleep and mumble to myself, I was almost sub-conscious, which is that line between awake and asleep. My arm was hanging out the ladder gap when I was ‘swaying’ my arm was hardly gripped and I pulled my arm back in but there was no force trying to stop me. I then looked out from my covers and saw the woman walk away and turn into the spare bedroom next to my room. This event baffled me as I had never seen the ghost in my room before, (this happened when I was nine, 2004) Later that year we moved out of the house. Another one off experience I remember was on Christmas day where I ‘fell’ down the stairs, I felt someone breathe down my neck and whisper something, I cannot recall what it was but it frightened me enough to make me fall.

As well as seeing the ghost at the top of my stairs and a one off in my room; I used to regularly see the woman cross past my room into the spare bedroom. This is where both my brother and mum saw the ghost, they both saw it on more than one occasion.

The final location I had seen this ghost was in my next door neighbors (who we had bought the land off) garden, but again this was only ever out of the corner of my eye. My dad claims never to of seen the woman but I’m certain he has as he always avoids it when I bring it up into conversation.

Anyhow, I hadn’t thought  about this ghost since my parents divorced. But prior to that I used to feel uncomfortable for the first year in our new home, as I wondered if the ghost had followed us. However when walking back from the town,about a week ago, I walked a mate home, who lived by my old house, I saw it and the hairs instantly stood up on my neck and I felt uncomfortable. Since then I have had an old reoccurring dream, I’ve had twice in this week gap.

The dream is short and simple. We’re in a cinema sitting at the back and I am young maybe four or five, holding a large bag of popcorn. The woman that ‘haunts’ my house grabs my head, and covers my eyes, and whispers something as she pulls my head back and I go crashing into the floor, she begins to laugh, as there is no back on the seat. My head is cracked and I wake up sweating at this point. Always sweating. I used to have this regularly ad-least once a week when I lived in the house.

I have no idea what the dream means, so if anyone has any idea leave a comment.

However I believe that the ghost wants to contact me, and I’ve recently been interested in Ouija boards and was thinking of doing one to see if the ghost talks to me?

I have no experience in this, and id like to know what people think of this…
