This happened in 1996. I’m still not sure of what exactly happened, but have not been able to determine the source to this day.
Like any morning at that time, my ex had just left for work. I always woke up when he was getting ready, just never got up. I heard the car leave, and I was still laying in bed deciding to go back to sleep for a while. I heard someone walk into the bedroom. There was no door, only a blanket covering the entrance. But, I could hear the floor creak as if someone was nearing the bed. For some reason, I was petrified!
I lived surrounded by my family, so rational thinking should have told me that it could’ve been a cousin or one of my parents. But, my emotions were not believing that. I tried so hard to maintain the look of being asleep, as my face was facing the direction of the noise. I could feel my heart about to leap out of my chest. Then, I heard a little snap.
After a while, I’m not sure how long I laid there like that, I felt like I could open my eyes. A little time passed by and I never mentioned it to my ex, because he would have just taunted me.
I developed some pictures one day and there in the middle of the roll, was a picture of me in bed “sleeping”. I gave the packet of pictures to my ex to see when he got home. When he came upon that picture, he said, “That picture looks really cool the way the sheets and curtains match, the way your laying and the look on your face. It looks like a painting or something. Who took it?” All I could say was “I don’t know.” But, that picture had to have been that morning, because the sheets, the position I was laying in, the angle it was taken… all matches my memory of that creepy morning.
I later showed it to my parents, brother, cousins, anyone who had access to my house and could’ve played a joke on me, and none of them knew what happened. I still have the picture, and still wonder who took it.
