My Supernatural Experiences

Posted on September 21, 2008

Well, as a child I’ve always had experiences with the supernatural, usually frightening … I am no expert on the subject but do few comfortable around such experiences now, however morbid they may be.

It first started when I was about four years old, I was living in a cheap Brisbane flat with my mum, her boyfriend and our room mates [and friends] Rachael and her daughter Tay, who was the same age as me. I was a ‘street kid’, living where ever we could afford, and usually lasting only a few weeks, so I thought it was normal for Tay to go to kindergarten while I stayed home.

One night, everyone was asleep. Mum and her boyfriend were passed out in the next room, Rachael was tired from work and Tay had school in the morning. I was lying on my mattress at the foot of Rachael and Tay’s bed [they shared a double bed] and I was looking up at the window, closing my eyes drowsily. I blinked them open when it felt like some one was near me. As I opened my eyes, I instantly saw a hooded figure, yet not an entire figure [like a hoodie jumper]. The hood was up so it was too dark to see what was inside it. There were no hands coming out of the sleeves and nothing from the bottom of the hooded shirt thing… The hood was moving like a head inside it was looking around. I gasped and it stopped moving. Then slowly, the empty hole of the hoodie faced me. I was frozen, laying there for what seemed like hours just staring at it staring at me, and it felt like I was numb. After a long while, I felt I could move again. I jumped up and leapt onto the double bed, burying myself into the blankets so I couldn’t see anything but darkness.

The next morning I told mum and Rachael what happened. They looked at the spot above the windows where it was the night before, but there wasn’t any sign of it, no hook or nail for it to hang off, nothing. I was scared! After that I seemed to have a few encounters involving clothing.

Many years later, I moved to a few places. In the town I am currently in, and have been since I was about 7, I have lived in a few houses. One was a house next to the school. It was a two story house but all the rooms were upstairs, downstairs being the garage and laundry. One night, I had to take some laundry down to the washing machine under the house. In the areas before the small laundry room, there were long beams running across the roof that we used to hang clothes on. I was leaving the laundry and almost out the door when I heard a shuffling sound. I looked behind me and hanging off one of the clothes racks was a blue tie. It started moving. I was frozen to the spot, fascinated, not scared, and it started rearing its tip up, like a snake does, and just kind of wavered there. I worked up my courage, thinking what harm can a TIE do, and walked over to pat it. I swear I heard it make a sound… kind of like purring but … it sounded unnatural. Like, a metallic sound … I can’t explain it! But it made me realize I was safe and the ‘tie’ wasn’t a bad creature I always read about.

There are a few more experiences I would like to share, and a few more recent ones that have scared me more than I have ever been scared in my entire sixteen years of life, but I have no time. I shall post them later on.

  8. ebony says:

Gee, I am starting to think you might have halutinations. Come on! You were just four years old! When I was four I could see ghosts, vampires even mummies! And for the tie story, have you ever considered seeing a psychologist? Oh, and an advice for whoever wrote this: Don’t watch too many horror movies!

  9. anna says:

that wasnt really scary.Ive read a little more scarer then that. The tie I thought was kind of weird.the hoodie ya maybe a little scared .but a tie. come on no offense.

  10. heather says:

Just because it wasn’t extremely scary doesn’t mean she made it up or has hallucinations. I’m sure it was scary to her. Ghosts are known to move a bunch of random things. And I can assure that the hooded figure was defanitly that – a hooded shadow figure. Very creepy. The tie was an unexpected twist in the story kind of cute if u ask me. Could have been a friendly spirit, they are known to give off good or playful and sometimes serene vibes. Good story. Can’t wait to read ur others! God bless
