My name is Ellie, and I had a really strange experience a couple of years ago.
It was during the summer holidays, and I lived in a big house on a small estate. My best friend at the time Becky had come over for a sleepover, and she brought her Ouija Board with her.
We asked if there was any spirits in the room, and we got “yes”. Becky asked for a name, and we got “Jacob”. I then asked politely if we could ask more personal questions, and ‘Jacob’ replied “no”. Becky smiled at me, and ignored his ‘no’ answer, and asked him how he’d died. He didn’t reply, so she asked again. Again, no answer. I told her to be careful as Becky’s sister Louise had told us her stories and experiences with these boards.
So I asked ‘Jacob’ if he was angry with us, and he replies “yes”. I apologized, and so did Becky, and then she asked if he could forgive us. ‘Jacob’ replied “no”. Becky and I looked at each other, I know she felt the same as I did, bloody scared! ‘Jacob’ then started hovering over the letters that spelled out mine and Becky’s names. Becky looked at me anxiously. Neither of us had called each other by our names, so how did this ‘Jacob’ know our names? I asked, do you know us? He replies “yes”. I looked at Becky, sweat formed across her brow. We didn’t ask anything after that, and I went to get some drinks for us. I came back into the living room where we had been doing it, it was dark now, and my parents still weren’t back, so I texted my mum, but it wouldn’t send. So I gave up. Becky was sitting there with her head on the table, sobbing. I asked her what was wrong, and she lifted her head off of the table and looked at me. She had a bloody nose. I stared in shock, and she started sobbing again. I figured this probably had something to do with ‘Jacob’, but I didn’t want to ask, she seemed to upset.
So I took her hand, and we closed it together, and put the board in a carrier bag. We took it to the garden, and placed it on the little camp-fire we had planned to burn earlier but didn’t. I grabbed my lighter, yes I smoke, so I had it handy, and we set it alight. It didn’t burn the whole thing, and we couldn’t be bothered to stand around, because it was freezing. We went back into the house and it was freezing too, even though the heating was on. I looked at Becky, and she looked at me. We hadn’t asked the spirit to leave. Big problem. Our sleepover consisted of hugging each other on the end of the staircase. All we could hear was noises from the attic and kitchen. Even though the attic was empty due to the fact we were moving house in a few weeks, there was dragging type noises and footsteps coming from up there, and the television volume in the kitchen kept decreasing and increasing every now and then.
It kept happening until I moved house, and the weeks leading up to the move were sleepless. It got me paranoid. Then I started secondary school, and during the lessons there would just be this gray mist in front of my eyes half the time, and I felt as if I was living in some sort of dream, as if I wasn’t there. Then I met this amazing girl called Beth, and she prayed for me. Beth is a Jehovah’s witness, and she blessed me and prayed for me, and it hasn’t happened since. I know now that using an Ouija Board is not a bright idea, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ve heard many stories, and this is not my first paranormal experience.

Wow, that is really freaky! U must have really been terrified and i don’t blam u. As crazy as it is I wish I could experiance something like that, I have tried and failed, but I no not to mess with Ouija Bordes , my mother never let me get one, so I got a lil key chain one when I was like 16 or 17 or so, I’m glad ur friend was able to help u feel better, I got so scared after an episode of a haunting b4 I would not sleep till I saged my room. I would love to hear about ur other incounters too, sry my spelling sucks I no, thanks for sharing ur story
Dude, u do NOT want ANYTHING to do with that stuff!!!!!!!!!!! My school is haunted and I had many scratches to prove it!
im just curious is it was summer why would you have the heater on?sometimes its cool were you were a sweater but not the heater.anyways i hope you learned your lesson in playing with the ouija board.you never know what could happen.what ever happened to you and becky?if you dont mind me asking?did you ever tell your parents that night.thanks for the story.
So many people innocently think the an Ouija board is just a game but sadly, like you they almost all find out this is no game! I hope whatever you conjured out of that board did not stay in the house for the new tenants…. scary thought! thanks for sharing!
We had the heater on because it was pretty cold evening. Becky and myself barely speak now, both went our separate ways. No, we didn’t tell either of our parents, because they warned us both about messing with the ‘other side’. Thank you. Ellie x
I have no idea why, either, but that “game” (as it’s still marketed in the U.S.) does seem to have power, and it never seems to be positive. People ask me (because I have experience with spiritual practices) why I am so against using a Ouija to attempt spiritual work, and this type of experience is exactly why. A simple little board shouldn’t be a portal to a dark dimension (it’s hardly logical to think so), but so help me, it almost always is. It is not a tool to be messed with. But even if it was taken off the market, people would just make their own. It’s like dark spirits sit around waiting for people to use this thing so they can gain power and get into the earth’s dimension! I’m glad Elliey, that your experience was not even worse, though it was bad enough.

I think those boards are fake! although i haven’t tryed one i know they are. i want to try one just to show you people that it’s fake!

wow i would of been so scared if that had happened to me.. ive had weird paranormal experiences in the past and i thank god that recently nothing like ive experienced or knew has happened to me recently and i pray that it never does cuz the experiences that i have had were very scary!
These boards are definately NOT fake.
I often use them with a group of spiritualist friends of mine we have never encountered anything bad mostly family and friends but every now and again a random spirit will come through just to say hi. However ouija boards can clearly be dangerous as this story shows but would this spirit have been ok if your friend had respected it’s wishes and stopped with the questions? Please don’t use the board for a laugh it’s not a game if you do it be respectful, be careful, never invite any spirit into your home by asking it to touch you or move things, and always close the board by asking the spirit to say goodbye

Ihave had experience some paranormal stuff& istill am. My ex (which ‘m still rlly close to) is about to the Oiuja board & I was actually planning to play it. But ifigured , i should do a little research first. So i have been reading alot of stories about Oiuja boards & all have been negative stories. Idk if istill want to play the board or not, becuase this “spirit” is still bothering me. Iwant to know why it is & who it is. But as for my ex , its the same, so chances are… he will play the board. Ican not stop him . But iwish him the best of luck. & Thanks for the story.
