My Paranormal Experiences in Tampa

Posted on January 1, 2011

First of all I would like to say that I have been coming to this site for awhile now, and I love reading everyone’s stories. While I have had many supernatural experiences since I was about 12 years old, I have never felt like I was special or gifted due to the fact that I have sensed and have seen spirits. I have many stories to tell, but it would be too much to write in one sitting, so I will tell each experience separately.

When I was 6 years old, my family was living in an apartment in Tampa, Florida. My mom made friends with the postal carrier, and I guess she told him that she hated apartment living. He told my mom that he had a rental house. His mother had died(not in the house), and had willed it to him. He already had his own home by then, but couldn’t bring himself to sell the one he inherited because it was all he had left of his mother.

He agreed to rent the house to our family, and we moved in. We lived there for about 3 years, and then my step-father (whole family as well) was transferred to New Mexico courtesy of the USAF. Nothing happened in the 3 years we lived there. I only mention it because when we moved back 3 years later, we moved back into the same house.

When I was 12 we moved back to Florida, and back into the same house. The previous renters had left the place a mess. So we had to clean up before moving in. While my younger sister and I were cleaning what was going to be our room we found drawings of demons and the devil, presumably that the boy who used that room before we moved back in had drawn. The drawings terrified us, so we took them to our mother. She told us not to worry that it was just stuff some teen boys did, and to throw them away. We did!

From the time we moved in, my younger brother would not sleep in his bedroom, he always slept on the couch. He would never tell us why he wouldn’t sleep in there. I assumed it was because we had a lot of kids in the neighborhood who liked to knock on the windows late at night (some dumb game they played). I figured they did it a few times to his window, and he thought it was a burglar or something.

Although my mom had experienced a few things in the house, and my brother as well(he suffered in silence)I did not until I was 17. The supernatural experiences I had before then were all psychic(precognitive dreams)not spiritual sightings. However that all changed when I turned 17. I grew tired of sharing a room with my younger sister. She was too messy! So one day I told my brother that if he didn’t start sleeping in his own room within a week, that I was going to make it my room.

When the week was up, I moved into his room. My mom wouldn’t let me put his stuff out (she didn’t want it lying all over the house) so I moved his stuff to one side of the room, and set up my stuff. That night I awoke to see 3 amber colored orbs next to my bed. They were all in a line, and each one would take a turn zooming towards my face. Then back into line, excitedly circle the other 2 and then the next one in line would zoom towards my face and repeat the same process. Until all 3 did it 3 times. Maybe they would have done it more times, but after the 3rd time I was so scared I just closed my eyes and went back to sleep. I moved out of the room the next morning. I never told anyone what happened, I let them all believe that I missed sharing a room with my sister.

Three years later the landlord died, and his son sold the house. We moved into a new house, and one night my brother and I were up late talking and watching TV. I asked him why wouldn’t he sleep in his own room at the old house. I said, “Was it because of…” and at the exact same time we both said, “The lights!” So I know this wasn’t a dream, because we both experienced it. And I know it wasn’t a shared hallucination, because we experienced it at different times, and didn’t share it with anyone else until long after we moved out of that house.
