This is a true account of what happened to me back in 2007. I worked at a campground, which I will not name, in Massachusetts.
The first time I realized that the main building here was haunted was a day in early in summer. Me and a co-worker of mine were moving some furnishings in the main building and we had realized that we left a box of tools we needed to repair the bathrooms on this side of the building were on the other side. So we went from the store room to the other side of the building, we grabbed the box and returned to the store room before we headed towards the bathrooms.
When we reached the bathroom, we noticed the light coming from under the door. We found this strange due to the fact that we were the only ones in the building at the time. We decided to go in and see what was needed to fix the bathroom, well the door was locked. We both nervously laughed and my co-worker unlocked the door. We quickly surveyed the scene and then went to get the needed tools. When we returned we saw that the light had been turned off. That was my first encounter.
About three months later around October I was told to decorate the main hall for a function. That day I was the only one who was working in the main building. As I entered the main hall I heard a noise, it sounded like soft orchestral music. I went to my boss’ new office to see if he left music playing, he didn’t. So I ignored it and moved on to the hall to decorate it.
Once I entered the hall the music stopped. I walked on to the balcony surrounding the room, to the far side where the decorations were being held. As I reached the corner of the room there was a strange smell, I couldn’t tell what it was or where it came from. It was a sickening smell that seemed thick, but only in that one area. I managed to hold my lunch down and continued on my task.
I began setting up all of the decorations, and once they were done I walked onto the dance floor to see how it looked. As I stepped on to the dance floor all I could hear was jazz music. There were no speakers set up in the main hall and I have no clue where it was coming from. That had really freaked me out, I decided it was time to leave.
I quickly walked to the west entrance. As I neared the entrance, I heard foot steps above me. Now that may not sound strange, but save for the fact that the part of the building I was in at that point had no up stairs, it was only a crawl space! I wouldn’t have thought much of these steps, but they were very heavy and scared me out of my mind.
A few months later I quit and I haven’t been back since, and I don’t think I will ever go back.
