I live on a military base with a long, haunted past. Being an avid ghost hunter I’ve researched and spent countless hours learning everything I could about the ghosts and hauntings in the area. One story that always fascinated me was the ghost of Tower 8.
Tower 8 is one of the towers around the prison on the base and one day a guard committed suicide by shooting himself in the face. Ever since then there have been weird happenings in that tower and it has been completely sealed off.
My friend and I decided to go for a drive around the base very early in the morning, around 2 A.M. He is far from being a skeptic but I wanted to show him the old hospital in the prison. We drove up on top of a hill to get a better view of the hospital. What we didn’t know is that from that hill, we would also be able to clearly see Tower 8.
I started to see something moving inside the tower so I asked my friend to reverse his car (we never left his car during this entire experience.) Without me saying anything, he asked me if I saw the figure moving in the tower. We both knew that it would be impossible for someone to be in the tower because the doors were welded shut and concrete was poured in front of the doors.
We both saw the exact same image. We saw the shadow of a man, pacing back and forth within the tower. We also saw the shadow of his gun. We watched the “shadowguard” for around three to five minutes when he suddenly stopped and we could tell he was looking right at us. I started to feel very pressured, as if something was pushing down on my chest.
A split second after I started feeling pressured, my friends car suddenly shut off. (I feel I should mention that he drives a manual transmission, but his foot was on the clutch and even if he had let it off, the car would have jumped before it died). Needless to say at this point both my friend and I were very scared and so he turned his car back on and tried to go. He had the gas all the way down and the car started to go back and forth, as if the car was going from first gear to reverse. Eventually we had rolled far enough to be out of the guard’s grasp and his car started running perfectly fine again.
After we got far away from the old prison, we sat in a parking lot and discussed what we saw. We both saw the exact same thing. Neither of us were intoxicated in any way, or even tired. Just typing this story has me relieving the whole experience in my head and it is still freaking me out. I hope you enjoy the story.
