I never used to believe that houses could really be haunted until one early morning my dad woke up to a clattering noise. He is a light sleeper and insomniac so he since he was up for the day now, he decided to check it out. He met my brother in the kitchen. They both heard the noise and wanted to know what it was. They looked around and found out that there was a spoon in the sink. This could easily be shrugged off as not paranormal, but in our house there are no cats, no mice, no rats, and no reasons why a spoon should fall in the sink at 5:00 in the morning.
Ever since then small things have been going on in our house to make us believe in ghosts more and more. Usually it’s my dad that witnesses these events because he stays up the latest. Most of the activity happens between 11:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M. There is often the voice of a man that can be heard by my dad. He’s the only one who has heard the voice of the man and he says that the man calls out his name sometimes or tells him to wake up. In our family room a shadow in the shape of a man can often be seen between those times. I’ve personally never seen it, but my dad and brother both claim to have seen the shadow on multiple occasions.
My brother has seen the bar stools in our kitchen pulled out in front of him. I’ve heard the occasional footsteps and just recently have heard a ceramic plate on one of our walls thrown across the room (Thankfully it didn’t break).
My mom refuses to believe in ghosts or the paranormal even after she heard what she thought was me talking to my dog. She thought I had returned from a friend’s house, but I was actually still at his house. My dad was right next to her hearing the voice of the girl, so it wasn’t just her hearing things.
Occasionally in our guest room, the TV turns on and the covers are pulled down to make it look like someone had been sleeping in there and have just gotten out of bed. We aren’t exactly sure what is in our house, nor do we really notice it. We usually just laugh at the activity or if item is misplaced we just say the ghost did it.
My dad believes that whatever is in our house is friendly and just wants to be noticed. I only partly agree with him. I feel that what seems to be a girl spirit is friendly, but the ghost of the man I am not too sure about. Some of the activity surrounding the shadow man does not at all seem friendly or just in of attention.

VERY INTERESTING!!!!! In time your Mom will have to accept the fact that something is up-there are ghosts at your house…. I agree with you- I am not so sure that male ghost is not a bad entity either…thanks for sharing!
That’s interesting that the paranormal stuff seems to be drawn more to the males of your household and not the females so much. It’s usually the opposite. Sounds like it’s a female spirit who wants male attention!
that could be true, but what about the man?
i like your story
the only thing i can say is do some research on the place and see what you come up with.let us know what happens.thanks for thestory.
Thank you for thinking my story was interesting everyone! I decided to ask my dad a bit about the history of our house. It’s not an old house-just about fifty years old. My parents have owned it for twenty years and I’ve lived in it all my life. Although the activity excites my dad he still is often hesitant while talking about it because he’s afraid it will scare me, but I’m no longer scared of anything ghost related. He told me that about the time they first bought the house he left his office/study and when he came back there was writing all over his calender that was on his desk, which to this day he can’t remember what it said and has no idea on how it could have gotten there. There were never any deaths in the house, so I’m unsure as to why we have attracted so many ghosts that only speak out to men. I’ve had a friend over just recently and he went to go grab his jacket out of my room while I was in the kitchen. He came back a little frightened. He told he just heard a little boy say hello to him. It seems that the ghosts around here just keep piling up!
What kinda of things does the man do?
The man doesn’t really do much. All we can really pin on the man is the shadow figure in our family room late at night and the voice of the man. Often, my family and I can feel when something is going to happen and promptly leave the room before its given the chance to show itself. My dad and brother often ignore this though and that’s when the see the shadow.
Whoa! Creepy…, But a very interestin story!
