This is the second story I’ve sent in… by the way, thanks for all the kind comments on my other one… and this one is a lot more of a positive sighting than just a feeling.
My daughter, I mentioned her in my first story, lost her uncle in November of ’08, and we still don’t know exactly what happened to him. He was 27 years old, had everything going for him, but on that night my girl found him dead on the living room sofa. She was 7 years old and I worry about the effect that will have on her forever.
The autopsy report said drug overdose… but he wasn’t on drugs and he did not commit suicide. Some funny stuff had been going with people who didn’t like him much, but we’ll probably never know what really happened. All we know is he’s gone and we love him and miss him every day.
His parents were of course devastated, their world was turned upside down in just a few hours. I’m still very close with them, although my daughter’s father and I haven’t been together for a while now. They decided to move, they just couldn’t live there anymore after what happened. I really don’t blame them.
It was a few months after they moved and I got a call late in the evening that my daughter’s grandpa was in jail and needed me to drive about 30 miles to the next county and bail him out. No, he’s not a bad guy, he got picked up with no driver’s license because of a mix-up about an unpaid traffic ticket. So I went to their house to pick up his wife first, and we were lying on her bed watching TV while we waited for the bondsman to call back.
Directly to my right in their bedroom where I was laying is their closet doors, sliding doors painted solid white. We weren’t in the dark, we had lights on everywhere, but all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of something moving in kind of a gliding way across those doors. I turned my head to look, fully expecting it to be gone… but there it stood, in plain sight, a tall thin shadow of a man. I stared at it, then back to the TV, then back to it, at least 3 times before it was finally gone.
I told my girl’s grandma what I saw and she just said, I told you so! She had been telling me that her son… who was 6′ 4″ and as skinny as a pole… still came around every now and then, and I guess now I had no choice but to believe her because I know what I saw with my own eyes.
