Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I’m not sure what to think of all of this, but that’s why I’m posting this. So other people can give their opinions. Anyway, I have lived in this house for a little over a year now, and nothing paranormal has happened, until now.

It was a Saturday, not too long ago, and it was 12:30 am. I was the only one awake in the house, everybody else was asleep. I was on my computer in my bedroom, when I heard a noise, like a TV being turned on. I thought somebody couldn’t sleep and decided to watch TV, so I didn’t worry much about it. I continued on the computer until about 1:00 am, and I decided I wanted to go to sleep. I walked out of my room, because I had to use the bathroom, and I saw that the TV wasn’t on, and everybody was asleep. But the noise was still there. It was loud, and I was surprised that it hadn’t woken anybody up yet. I walked into the living room to find it pitch black dark, but that radio was on. I freaked out, and woke up my parents to tell them about it. My dad got up and turned it off for me. I asked how it turned on by itself, and he said that my little sister (who is two years old) likes to play with it and accidentally sat an alarm. I wasn’t convinced, because the only radio we had was high up, and there was no way my little sis could reach it. I can barely reach it myself. I thought about a ghost turning I on by itself, but I didn’t believe in ghosts, until this other thing happened.

I went to the bathroom, left the door open because there’s a night light in there, and went to bed. When I was in bed, about five minutes later, I heard a creaking noise. It couldn’t be someone walking, since we have tile floors and they don’t creak. I sat up, and looked through my cracked door. I watched in fear as the bathroom door started to close itself, with nobody pushing it shut. The door didn’t shut completely, but it got halfway there. I calmed myself down, and went back to bed. I heard the creaking noise again, and saw the bathroom door being pulled open now. I sat there, staring at it for a few minutes, but nothing happened.

When I woke up, I tried to debunk it. The radio had to have come on by itself, because there were no other explanations. I looked at the bathroom door, and noticed that there was a vent in the bathroom, but it was closed. The bathroom door is not something that could be moved by air, so something had to have closed it. I now believe in ghosts. I think my house is haunted, even though I don’t have much evidence, I can just feel it. I feel like I’m being watched. I feel as though this spirit is just looking for attention, or to make itself known.

I was visiting at my grandparents house around last Christmas. I was in my room (yes I have a room in my grandparents house) and I had a friend over. We were on my computer and all of a sudden, my phone started playing ringtones by itself. We looked at my phone, it was charging. It was playing the ringtone ‘thriller’ and we just stared at it. We looked at each other and said we thought it was a ghost. I don’t know how my phone got to its ringtones, but I know we didn’t put it there.

I was still at my grandparents house, and this was a few days after the first occurrence happened. I was sitting at my table in my room, and I was on my computer. On the door to my room, I have those hanging things that dangle down (do you know what I’m talking about?) and the door was open. I was on my computer when I noticed that the dangly things were moving by itself. I got this knot of fear in my stomach like I never had before. I just sat there, staring at it. I wanted to scream, but I couldn’t. I was just too scared. I built up the courage to run out of my room, and not come back in there until night time.

This was in the same week. I was in my bed, all by myself, when I heard footsteps on the hardwood floors. These hardwood floors are really squeaky, so I knew someone had to be walking on them. I sat up, and waited for a minute. The footsteps continued. It was the middle of the night, by the way. I heard the footsteps coming own the hallway, and stop in front of my door. I heard the dangling things scrape against my door, like someone was reaching through to open the door handle. A minute later, I heard footsteps in my room. I sat back up, scared out of my mind. They sounded like they were coming to me. I built up the courage to say “Go away” to the ghost and it did, for now.
