I’m going to tell a story about a haunted school which has been very popular for so long in the city where I live: Bandung, Indonesia. The building was built on early 1900s (when my country was still occupied by the Dutch colonial) and used to be “Hogere Burger School (HBS)”, a school built by the Dutch government and only Dutch kids could attend this prestigious school.
In 1916, a tragedy happened when a 16-year-old Dutch girl named Nancy did a suicide by jumping up from the second floor and hit the stairs. She died instantly. Rumors spread that she was upset because her parents forbid her to get involve with a local guy, called Inlander (Indonesian), and they got angry when they found out she was sleeping with him. Some people said that she was pregnant at that time.
Since then, Nancy’s ghost appearances and several kinds of paranormal activities happened. FYI, the building has been used as a public high school since our Independence Declaration in 1940s. A friend of mine, who can see ghosts, admitted that she had seen the ghost of a young, beautiful white girl wearing a Victorian dress but with blood streaming from the corner of her mouth several times when she attended this school back in 1990s. She believed that it was Nancy that she met at the hall outside her class and later she could seen her walking down the school stairs.
There’s also some stories when students, teachers and staffs could hear voices, windows banging when there’s no wind or anything that could caused the bang, sounds of a girl’s cry, someone’s playing piano inside the school’s ballroom at night, and many more. People outside the school sometimes could see a girl peeking from the window or looking outside the streets at night.
