It’s been 3 years I experienced this chilling incident but it still scares me when I think about it now!

I went to Kolkata for a holiday with my boyfriend. As soon as we reached we checked into a hotel. We stumbled into our room.. tired and dusty as a result of the rickshaw ride! I started unpacking and by that time, my boyfriend was already in the shower. I passed him a towel and he told me that the food in the hotel wasn’t so great (he had stayed there before) so he was going to get food from a nearby restaurant.

As soon as I locked the door securely behind me I rushed to take a shower, it was a quick one! I wanted to lie down on the bed so badly. I came out of the shower and I felt a cold brush of air wen I reached the foot of the bed, it was really cold but I ignored it thinking it was just the ac and the cold water drops on my body giving me the chills! I quickly changed into my night gown and got inside the blanket. It was around 6:30 in the evening so it had already started to get dark.

I was nearly asleep, I heard someone entering the room. I opened my eyes and sat up on my bed for few seconds. I got inside the blanket again thinking the sound must have come from the corridors. I fell asleep quickly, after sometime my back was facing the door. I heard the door open and I knew it was my boyfriend, he had the key, yet I asked him, “did you get the food?” I heard him say, “huh!” I told him I was going to lie down for sometime and that he could wake me up after 15 minutes.

I was still facing the wall, I felt he sat on the bed tried to get in the bed. I could feel his back push me towards the other side of the bed so that he could fit in. He pulled the blanket, I refused to share it with him, I was feeling really really cold!

I must have slept for about 20 minutes I felt a tiny baby hands slap me on my forehead! I sat up on my bed terrified! I called my boyfriend from the hotel phone and he was already outside the door reaching for the keys in his back pocket. I shouted at him for being late, he told me that the restaurant was busy and it had shifted two blocks away from the old place. I told him about the incident but he told me that I was too tired and there isn’t anything to worry. I could not eat properly, I felt sick and really tired.

I knew my boyfriend was there so I felt safe… I told him I was about sleeping and asked him to turn off the lights. He woke me up around midnight terrified and sweating like a pig. He started packing our things and said we were going to a different hotel. I asked him what happened but he was too terrified to talk. So, I also changed quickly and went to the lobby, called a taxi and moved to a hotel in the other part of the town.

My boyfriend did not say a word till we reached halfway. He told me that he could not sleep so he turned towards me and he could see my face through the light peeping from the streets through the curtains. He said I looked at him and kept on smiling at him and he told me that my eyes looked different, it was larger and very much attractive. He told me that we kept on looking at each other without saying a word for about half an hour. He began to feel sleepy so he bent over to kiss me good night but when he came near me, he could just feel my hair on the head! He turned the lights on and it seems I was sleeping facing the other side. He was so scared that he decided to leave the hotel the very moment!

When we reached the other hotel I felt calm and warm and of course when my boyfriend told me how sorry he was for not believing me earlier. I couldn’t be happier! But, that night still scares me and I still don’t know what it was!
