Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

We moved into a haunted house in 1978. My family and I bought a house that was in the country, a 50 year old ranch style house. We bought it in the spring of 1978.  It begin almost as soon as we  moved in.

While making dinner one night with a friend we heard a male voice call out my name, it was so plain. We were looking everywhere for the person that called out to me. There was no one there. This happened again several times. Each time this happened there was always someone there to witness it. I thought at first I was hearing things, but it was so clear.  There was no mistaking what we had heard .

Later on we saw a tall dark figure pass down the hallway.  We were sitting on the sofa watching the TV and from the corner of my eye I saw him pass by. There were no exit door at the end of the hall. If you went down the hall, you had to come back up the same way, there  was no other way out.

We knew, by this time, something was going on paranormal in this house. The hallway haunting became a daily thing.  one or more of us saw it every day. It wasn’t a scary thing. It was always unexpected when we saw it.

As time went by the master bedroom became haunted. For whatever reason, I don’t know, cause it wasn’t at first. The ghost that haunted by bedroom seemed to be  directed toward me, still again, I don’t know why.

It was loud, hitting the wall above my head, bumping the foot of the bed jarring the entire bed. That is a bad feeling. It was as if whatever was there wanted me out, it usually worked. I would drag the mattress from the bed into the den and sleep there on the flour.

This continued until I consulted a friend who had studied the paranormal. He gave me the advice to ask it to leave me alone. I was sleep deprived and scared to death. This worked for some time, it wasn’t as loud, but I still felt it there.

There were so many things that happened there in the 20 years we were there. During  the day while all the children were in school I could hear a basketball bouncing outside the window, we didn’t even own a basket ball. We were so far in the country, and off the main road it could not have come from any where else.

During the day while sitting watching TV, or just talking, we would hear a car pull up in the drive way, then a door open and shut, and foot steps coming toward the door. We sat there waiting on the door bell to ring =, get up to go to the door, as you figure, no one was there.

There were strange things happening there every day.  We moved in 1997 and sold the house to my son and his wife. The first thing she told me was that she laid in the bed and watched the bed room door open and close repeatedly before her very eyes. I knew she was right, it had happened to me there daily.

The ghost continued to haunt the hallway and the house burned in 2005 but the structure still stands on the property today, we still own it and go there from time to time.
