True Ghost Tales

When I was 14 or 15 we (Mum and Dad and I) moved to a new house in the town of Budleigh Saltrton. This town is in Devonshre, UK. I have always known when there was a ghost anywhere.

Now I’m 34, I still am sensitive to my surroundings. I live in Exeter, Devon, England. The house I would like to tell you about was in Budleigh Salterton, East Devon, England.

Our previous house was a terraced one, on the same street, a nice one but no garden, just a paved yard. The new house was a semi detached three bedroom property, with a large back garden and sizeable terraced front garden ( this is the house that wanted me to be no-more!). But When I first stepped over the front doorway, the feeling was one of dread.

It took a couple of months for the spirits to come out of their shells,so to speak. First thing I knew about it was when I was taking the Hoover up to my room to clean it. Taking it into my room was fine but when I took it out, I felt a deep chill, like somebody had left the fridge door open. (May I explain that in our house we had a split level landing and on the lower landing was a singular toilet. The Bathroom was separate on the upper landing. There was also shower room and toilet under the stairs.)

I felt , then saw as I passed the toilet, a see through form of a woman. Suddenly the hoover was wrenched out of my hand and landed at the foot of the stair case. Mum ran out of the lounge next door and found me also at the foot of the stairs. I had been pushed down the stairs and hurt myself! Mum told me off for the wrecked hoover but stopped in the middle of what she was saying, by a light chuckle from a middle aged woman.

So many things happened in that house but One thing else is indelibly imprinted into my head.

It was two and a half years after the last incident and I was ill in bed. I had a bad virus which had knocked me for six. I distinctly remember turning off the light before going to bed early. it was seven in the evening. I woke up at a 1 am and found the light on again and glowing a dim red. This was impossible for the bedroom light had a blue shade on! (As well as the ghoul in the upstairs toilet, there was a late night male energy that walked up the main stairs and into the bathroom and turned the light on.)

Suddenly I felt paralyzed in my bed and I saw a man in a Victorian Policeman’s uniform, in a rain cape, pressing me into the bed. I yelled out but nothing came out. I tried and a animal cry came out of me. Dad burst into the room and saw the entity. He yelled at it to leave me alone. The ghost vanished but where it sat and leaned over me, there was still an imprint of the thing!

I now live opposite a chapel and I’m sure I’ve felt things there!
