Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Growing up my parents always told me scary stories about my Grandmother’s house to supposedly scare me. I always thought they were fake, until I got older and started to experience some of the things myself. This has many different parts to it, but I will start out with when I was a baby.

My mom, dad, aunt, uncles, and grandparents all told me that when I was a baby, they would put me to sleep every night in my crib upstairs, and they would stay up and watch TV downstairs. They all stated that it would be dead silent sometimes, and they would all of a sudden hear me crying upstairs. They would go up to check on me, and I’d be silent asleep in my crib. This went on for a long time before it stopped.

My grandma used to have an old rocking chair upstairs, and she would often walk upstairs and see it going back and forth, it took about a month before she finally got rid of it.

When my Uncles and Aunts, were about 16 years old, they experimented with a Ouija board. My father was also involved in this. A few weeks after they tried the Ouija board, weird events started occurring. Some of these events are as follows. My Grandma’s house used to have all original hardwood floors. My Uncle was in his room one day and one of his toy matchbox cars randomly just flew across the floor.

Another time my dad and his friend, were sleeping in the same room, my Dad woke up to a sudden “slap” on his back. He said it burned and he thought his friend was messing with him, he turned around to look and his friend was fast asleep. My dad woke him up and said that he thought he just got slapped by him. Suddenly his friend said what’s that on your back? When they turned the lights on and looked at his back, my dad had a burnt match sticking to the skin on his back. My dad still has the scar to this day on his back.

I’ve seen shows and things on websites, that say dogs can “sense” things that aren’t there. One day I was laying on a bed in the upstairs bedroom, and the dog was sleeping at the foot of the bed. Out of nowhere the dog stood up and starting growling and barking at the wall. I was scared, I left the house for the day until my grandparents came home from work.

Things were good for a few years after that until about two years ago. My Grandma was at home with Grandpa, she had a load of laundry in the dryer. She was reading the paper when she heard the dryer stop. She stood up to check on the laundry when the dryer door flew open and the clothes went flying out and across the room. My grandpa went over to the dryer and saw that the load was only half way through the cycle. Since that occurrence there haven’t been any other incidents.

An old man did die in the house, but because of old age. We just live life on, and wait till the next day, when a freak occurrence happens in the house again. I’m 18 years old now, and still will not sleep upstairs, because it terrifies me.
