Haunted Darwin Australia Part 2

Posted on February 28, 2010

Having already accepted a presence in my Darwin house we have christened ‘Kevin’ (see previous stories) which I had sensed since moving in, my son had seen and a sensitive friend had confronted to ‘back off’ after Kevin tried to climb into bed with me, my daughter had seemed immune.

My daughter, Nea had complained of feeling “creeped out” in the house and her bedroom. I suggested she ask her grandfather to come and watch over her. After Nea did this and an apparition of a man in a hat with a tailored outline suggesting a suit (my grandfather’s classic hallmark – see previous stories) appeared on her bedroom wall, Nea admitted she felt OK in her room now (if no where else).

Yesterday, Nea (being a typical teenage younger sister) tried to get her older brother Aaron in trouble and it back fired on her terribly. Aaron has often been seeing Kevin around the house, particularly at our back sliding door, which prompted us to start closing the curtains in that area. He had described Kevin as being a tall guy about the same height as himself, 6′ 4″ appearing as a black shadow. Nea started telling me tales about how she had caught Aaron on the computer at 4 am the previous morning (when he should have been sleeping) and how Aaron had tried to sneak out the back sliding door to escape detection. Nea and Aaron were in the kitchen yelling at each other over these allegations last night when I had to intervene.

“I saw you seated at the computer when I went in the kitchen to get a glass of water” Nea spat at Aaron “and you thought I was Mum so you turned the computer off – I saw the screen go black.”

Aaron pulled a face and saw me looking and knew he had been ‘sprung’. “OK – OK” he conceded, “I was on the computer too late,” he admitted waiting for me to get angry but Nea kept talking.

“After I went to the fridge then you tried to sneak out the back sliding door in the dining room.”

Aaron looked up, “no I didn’t,” he insisted. After a bit of ‘yes you did/ no I didn’t’ I had to step in. “I really didn’t go to the back sliding door – I stayed frozen in my seat at the computer hoping she wouldn’t notice me” Aaron explained.

Nea looked horrified. “Then who was standing at the back sliding door?”

Aaron and I looked at each other knowingly. “What did he look like?” I asked.

“It was as tall as Aaron, so I thought it was Aaron – it was a guy because it was broad like a guy – he was standing in front of the back sliding door – he was in the house. He had his hand on the handle of the sliding door like he was about to open it and had stopped and he was looking at me.”

“Where were you?” I asked.

“I was at the fridge,” Nea explained, “I just thought it was Aaron playing silly buggers.”

Aaron for once looked serious, “honest – I didn’t move from my seat in front of the computer.”

“Did you see anything?” I asked Aaron.

“No – but I wasn’t looking in the dining room – I was looking in the kitchen hoping I wouldn’t be noticed.”

“Nea” I started gently ” I think you may have seen Kevin.”

Nea’s jaw dropped. “But I could even see the shape of his fingers on the door handle, it was all dark like a shadow, he wasn’t see through because he was in front of the curtains” she went on.

Nea was a bit shaken but understands what happens in our family. In private, I confronted Aaron about his late night antics and was him just spinning a yarn to scare his sister. “And what would I gain from that exactly?” he suggested. “Its bad enough already with this guy wandering around and now Nea is seeing him too. I don’t see this as a good thing. Its annoying.” he complained, as being the more sensitive of the two. Aaron tends to experience more and Aaron is not comfortable with his abilities.

So it would appear, perhaps Kevin was caught trying to leave the house yesterday at 4 am!

it seems kevin is getting braver and stronger. but he doesn’t seem to cause much trouble except for your kids doing what kids do. i don’t think he meant anything and was doing what he did in life. i look forward to all your experiences jen!!

Nea is 15, but my kids have been raised pretty much with the idea of the paranormal……as normal ( which is how I grew up ) so when stuff happens its a bit ‘ oh yeah its ONLY a ghost ‘ LOL
You can’t be afraid or have fear because that’s the type of thing negative energies use as fuel – and when mr & mrs joe average encounter a spirit and get scared that’s pretty much when things start to go pear shaped and the balance of power shifts from the living to the dead & things tend to get worse.
Kevin is a strong presence but he’s kept in line and behaves himself pretty much these days – we’ve agreed to ” get along “. He does what ghosts / spirits do – wander around and manifest on occassion and sometimes we can feel him around and that’s about where we draw the line.
Kevin has since found Nea’s room pretty much off limits since her grandfather set himself up as a ‘ protective spirit ‘ & I have my own set of prayers and meditations I use to bolster my own protection when I’m sleeping.
Only today – Aaron’s spidey sense was tingling when the pizza delivery guy turned up. Aaron is still learning to use his abilities. I only met the pizza delivery guy for a moment or two as I took the drinks but this guy was just buzzing with super POSITIVE energy! I didn’t say anything, but Aaron came in just glowing from encountering such a positive energy field. ” wow that guy was incredible ” Aaron gushed ” he’s left me feeling so happy ” ( and that’s Aaron’s problem…….you don’t always encounter nice energies and Aaron hasn’t learned yet to protect himself so sometimes he absorbs stuff willy nilly like a sponge )

  4. Stella M. says:

Wow, that all sounds so intriguing! I love the paranormal and wish I could experience situations such as this. I don’t know if Aaron likes having the skill he has, but I always thought people who have that extra something are quite special. I hop everything keeps going okay for you!
