Further to my previous stories of which there are many and more recently about “Kevin” my resident spook in my defense home in Darwin, Australia. Kevin decided last night he would prove he was still present.
My husband is army and had been deployed away from home for the last 2 years and finally returned home in December 2010 ‘for good’ (as impermanent as that may be, as any army wife will tell you).
The house is in general disarray, filled with boxes of his gear and his unpacking needing to be done, as no-one quite had the time to get around to it over the Christmas / New Year period.
So if you pardon the pun my house, looks like a bomb has hit it.
Last night after a hectic schedule of unpacking and then re-packing the items we want to go to storage, hubby retired early but I stayed up as I was putting some washing through the dryer.
When I did go to bed, I noted I was having a restless night and put it down to all the last minute activity before retiring.
At 2 am I was awake, but laying there just allowing the time to pass before I would drift of again. I was on my side facing out of the bed and hubby was behind me.
Suddenly hubby said aloud “Did you just touch me?”
I found that immediately odd, as he had no way of knowing I was even awake to hear that!
“No” I asked confused, as I rolled over to face him.
“uh oh Kevin is alive and well” he said someone just touched me on the stomach”
We looked at the clock. It was 2.15 am.
Hubby went on to explain, he was also in the same sleepless state when there was a distinct gentle poke just below the diaphragm. He said it felt like the point of some fingers. His immediate instinct being it was me, but on opening his eyes he could see by the light of the clock radio I was facing away from him and had my back to him and he had sensed no movement in the bed from where I would have reached out to him and he knew it made no sense.
We tried to re-create it with my elbows and reaching back but hubby conceded he could feel me move each time and besides I was awake and conscious I was not moving.
Of interest, on being jolted awake by the experience, hubby got up and found my son and his son, still up to mischief at 2 am and wrangled them both immediately off to bed.
As I have subsequently suspected when I was ‘grabbed’ previously (see previous story) I have wondered if “Kevin” wanted me to get up and attend to something in the night.
Seems on this occasion, Kevin was just letting us know that boys will be boys… but not on Kevin’s watch!

That was good. I think you are on to something, nothing evil going on just a hint that you may want to see who else is still awake in the house. I have a spirit, ghost, whatever you want to call it, that shows up at my house every now and then as well.
kevin jus wanted u to know the kids were up when they were supposed to be asleep…..he’s jus helpin out =)
Jennifer,
I read this site almost daily, bc I love reading ghost stories. I don’t think all the stories published are true, but sometimes still well written and entertaining. I have read all your stories, and know they are true. Your writing abilities make it so easy to picture Kevin and the situations really well, and some are quite funny. (the one where your child was going to jump out and scare your other child, but it was really Kevin being nosey; I think that’s how it went) hillarious! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us and I look forward for more stories to come!
I think having grown up with ghosts starting in my mother’s home, I have the advantage of being fairly accepting of such situations…………and yes, they can be halarious! You should read my earlier stories from ” Haunted Sydney ” when I was growing up. Sitting at the dinner table KNOWING you have a ghost and having a passing visitor nervously start to recount the fact they think they just saw one ( and you KNOW they did ) is like a private family joke! LOL By the same token I have also been in a situation which was frightening and not nice – so there are two sides to the coin. I guess like visitors, you meet some people who are pleasent and some who aren’t and you can’t wait until they leave! Alot of my friends were concerned I would be ridiculed by speaking out ( I’ve been speaking out about my experiences since my teens ) but it doesn’t bother me. I think if you have had an honest experience in life of some kind that you can’t explain by traditional science, no-one’s opinion is going to really bother you in the end. You know what you saw/ felt/ heard and as my mother used to taunt listeners to our stories ” well, go on – explain it to me! ” …..and of course no-one ever could. LOL But thanks for the compliment……..I really have to write a book LOL!
