Haunted Barbie Doll

Posted on February 16, 2009

When I was young I had a doll, and unlike the other Haunted Doll stories this one wasn’t porcelain or cloth. It was an old Barbie doll. She was about two years old when we got her, I was six and was determined to have her. Considering the fine silky clothes she wore and carefully plaited hair we got her for a good price.

When we brought her home my older sister started having nightmares and waking up screaming “Stop it Fay, Stop it!” Then she would just sit there, her eyes fixed on the Barbie doll shaking. She was about 13 and we had to share a room, even though I was half her age. The adults started questioning her ability to cope with school, and her friends and just life, but I was the only one who believed it was the Barbie doll that was haunting her. Even I had noticed the times when the doll had moved places on the shelf or changed hairstyle by herself.

I knew no one would believe me either and our parents refused to let us get rid of the collectors edition doll. I too would sometimes wake up suddenly from a nightmare, even if it had nothing to do with Barbie’s and scream “Stop it Fay!”. My parents thought I was mimicking my sisters behavior but finally after two long years of horror I came home from school, my sister had broken the head off the doll, and the arms and legs and shoved them into the bin outside.

This wasn’t the end though as afterwards we both had a little scar, mine on my left heel and hers on the back of her neck in the shape of an ‘F’. We decided for ‘Fay’. We never did find out who Fay was but decided it was the name of the doll who made our childhoods miserable.

The doll may not have been causing it. Have you ever considered that maybe someone or something other than the doll was haunting you or your sister? maybe a dead relative or a spirit who has not crossed over into afterlife yet? Maybe you should go to you mother and try and get some answers like “where did we get the doll?’ and if the store is still there it may be possible to track the record sells if the doll wasnt brand new. consider it.
