When I was in my late teens I used to hang out with three people; Christine, Rob, and this guy Frank… we were at the time the four amigos back in those days in Center Moriches.
I cant remember the name of the road but there was this huge patch of woods (we called it Clops) and in those woods was an old abandoned foundation of where a house once stood. Supposedly this man, back in the 1800′s, used to live there (bare in mind this is just word of mouth and I myself have found no solid evidence that man did or did not exist let alone live there or not). He was killed and buried there for some reason without his head and next his horse.
We had gone in there for ritual and before we even got there we stood on the path with our mouths agape because there a few feet away was a man dressed in old clothes that they wore back then with his head in his left hand and the reigns to a horse in his right. Oh my gods I was never so freaked out in my life (well the guys in the car comes pretty close). He looked at us with such expressive sadness then faded from our view. We shook it off and left those woods.
Another time we had gone there we had come to a curve in the path… there was a huge tree… I don’t know if the others saw it but hanging from the tree was a man. I don’t know what he was doing but he too faded from view.
Yet again at that same curve in the path I had seen a woman dressed in white (gee isn’t it always a girl in white?) emerging from a car on fire… someone had told me afterwards that some girl had been killed by her boyfriend in that area and was reported to do that to passersby’s.
And that’s all I can remember about dear ol’ Clops. I was there again some years later but its mostly over grown and most of it is developed by buildings now… too bad it was a cool place to hang!
If you type in Long Island New York urban legends on Google it will take you to some interesting sites… Long Island is reported to be very haunted and I can confer with that on a few areas.
