Ghostly Holiday in India

Posted on September 16, 2011

I have never done this before and I have never shared this story with anyone outside my family. I thought it was time to let others know about my experience. So here goes.

My parents had decided to go and visit my distant family in India for a holiday. I was with my ex-Fiancé at the time and invited him along. On arrival everything was normal, everyone was there and the house was packed. It was then my Aunt told my dad that she had rented out the house next door which had 3 bedrooms for us to use for the 4 weeks we were there.

At the time is appeared to be a good idea as it meant that we would have our own space. So my brother, sister, mum, dad, myself and my fiancé went in to unpack. On entering the home everything seemed normal. It wasn’t glamorous but it was ok to sleep in. The first night, we all pilled in to the house to go to sleep, of course my parents being strict and myself being 18 they made me share a giant bed with my younger brother and sister while my fiancé slept on the bed next to me.

That night I awoke in cold sweats, I must have been having a nightmare, I looked into the living room which I could see from the bed through the door way. Normally the light from outside the front door which can also be seen from my bed shines through lighting up the living room. This time it was pitch black and I couldn’t see anything. I thought perhaps the light outside had broke and this would be a logical reason for the room being dark. Of course this was not the case, I woke up my fiancé and asked him to come into the bed with me and look into the living room and tell me what he sees. He did so and said he sees nothing. I asked if he could see a light outside the door and he said he could. This scared me even more and to make it worse, I could see shadows walking around, I sent my fiancé to look and when he turned on the light the room was bare and the outside light was back on. Safe to say I went against my parents that night and slept next to him.

I wish I could say that was the only event but more were to follow. I always felt watched and heard voices and noises whether I was alone or with the family. I also became very ill on this holiday so much so that I couldn’t eat and therefore was bed ridden for most of the holiday. I also was visited by mother nature twice in a few days. Safe to say this was turning out to be deadly. It came to the point where I had no choice but to talk to my parents about my concern.

On telling my parents and the family the response was different to what I thought, My aunt described to my parents that the owners of the property were Hindu and that on may occasions she has heard them having meetings and discussing contacting the dead and also casting spells. My Uncle and his new wife were of course skeptical and offered to spend a night which they did.

I stayed in my aunts house that night and found that I felt a lot better safer and the good news was mother nature left and my temperature dropped, I also had an appetite again. My Uncle and new aunt came in in the morning and looked quite pale. I asked them what was wrong. My uncle informed me that he felt a presence in the living room and heard voices and had nightmares all night, my new aunt also said she felt the same.

Through the remainder of the holiday I stayed my aunts house, my health improved and I actually enjoyed the holiday. I still used the other house to shower and get ready, but always had someone with me just in case. I always felt that something that was there was not happy to have me stay and made it clear that if I did not leave now I never would.

If you guys have any questions regarding this please just ask.
