My grandmother lived in a small house in the woods of up state New York. The house had been a old school house at one time, until my grandparents bought it and converted it into a house. They had lived there since my mother was 3 or 4 years old, and she’s 81 now.
My grandfather died in the late 1970′s at the age of 99. My grandmother lived there until she died in 2000. She often told us of being in the living room watching TV and look up and see a young man in an army uniform standing there looking at her. She said he would be there 30 or 40 seconds and fade away into thin air. This happened a lot in later years, but she said she had been seeing him for years, but had no idea who he was.
A week before she died my mother was sitting with her in her bedroom, and she kept talking to some one like there was another person there. My mother would ask who she was talking to and she would say, “I’m talking to your grandmother can’t you see and hear her (my great grandmother) who had died 60 years before that, and my mother would fell chilled all of a sudden, and feel like she was being watched.
When my grandmother died her house was sold to a man from New York City, who gutted the whole inside of the house. He used to come up on the weekends to work on the house. But after the third weekend he left suddenly and didn’t even lock the doors. He never came back, and called a real estate agent to put it up for sale.
He wouldn’t tell any one why he left or why he put it on the market so soon after buying it. The house is still empty and I think I know why.
