True Ghost Tales

I grew up in a fairly typical home in Omaha, Nebraska. I was raised as a catholic but not in a strict religious home. The house I was raised in was unusual though. My mother experienced odd things and seen ghostly shapes on a regular basis. I found about these while I was a child and experienced things myself. My bedroom was in the attic and at night I would often hear footsteps coming up the long wooden staircase, would set up and look, but there would be no one there. I would hear things in my room moving, but being scared, would hide under the covers like most children do. I didn’t think much about it because I sort of got used to it over time.

But, when I was about 16 I experienced something that seems to be the beginning of a long nightmare. I woke up in the morning, it was daylight and I was getting ready to get out of bed. I looked up and there was a figure that scared me to death. It was a three dimensional figure of a man, but it was black and looked solid. There were no features I could make out, it just looked like a man about six feet tall that was totally painted black as night. He was walking through the room and disappeared.

This happened again about a couple of weeks later, I was not dreaming. It was not sleep paralysis either because I could move and I put my head under the covers and waited a while until I could make my escape. Nothing happened for awhile, I’m not sure exactly how long after that that I had another experience, but it had to be within a few weeks. I would start getting woken up by being touched on my legs and up toward my upper thighs. I got so scared I would just lay there and pray in my head until it went away. I was too afraid to open my eyes to see it. It seemed to sense when I would start praying and stop. I still use this tactic to this day if I have any experiences with it.

This happened on a semi-regular basis for about a year and then I moved to my boyfriend’s apartment, who would later become my husband. Once I moved in with him things were quiet for awhile. But then strange things started to happen. I thought this might have been something different, but in looking back almost thirty years, I don’t think it was. Strange noises and things getting moved even made my boyfriend wonder what was going on and he was a total skeptic at the time.

My dad died unexpectedly from a heart attack and soon after I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep, I looked at the foot of the bed and seen a dark tall figure standing there that looked like the shape of him, tall and thin. I got so scared that I just closed my eyes and waited a while , I then peeked out and it he/it wasn’t there anymore. I’ve had so many experiences that I cannot even write them all down right now, and it’s getting late.

I have many more that I can send that are worse experiences and that others have experienced around me. This includes other people seeing shadows in my home, experiencing direct contact with it, and I have EVPs that are bizarre also. I will continue this later. Thanks for reading.
