Children Seeing Ghost Woman in Thailand

Posted on October 14, 2010

This is my first ghost story that I have ever written on this website so I hope I’m doing this right. When I was a little girl around 3 years of age, I was sent to Thailand where my grandmother was since my parents were too busy to look after me.

My Grandmother’s house was large since she had 6 daughters living there who were my aunties and also my Grandfather was also living there. It was newly built and it was in Khon Kean a little to the north of Thailand. I spent about 6 months there and during my stay I felt really lonely. I would play by my self a lot with my favorite green rubber ball.

Personally I can’t remember any thing about this experience but my family had told me all about it two years ago. One day, I said to my aunties that I was going to play catch with “Pee” upstairs. In Thai “Pee” is to address some one who is older than you and if you say it with an accent it also means “ghost.” They would always hear me talking to someone and I’ll also be laughing and having fun.

They asked me what this person looked like, but since I was 3 I couldn’t really describe things well and I was honest, I said that it was a she, and she had dark skin, long black hair and wasn’t pretty. Of course my aunties thought it was adorable and called my mum to tell her about it. One day I came running down stairs crying saying that “Pee was scaring me! I hate her! I don’t want to play with her again!”

After a few days after this I was sent back to Australia and I had no memories about Pee after that, it was like my memories of Pee were totally wiped clean.

When my little sister was 3 and I was 6, my parents then had to send my sister to Thailand cause they were busy and I had to go to school. My sister also saw Pee and described her exactly the way I did. “It was a she, and she had dark skin, long black hair and wasn’t pretty” my sister also said that she was going to play catch with Pee upstairs.

After a few days, my sister came running down the stairs crying just like me when I had said that Pee was being scary. My family had started to get worried that is was a ghost haunting the house, but my Grandmother was brave and yelled at it telling it to go away and leave her grandchildren alone. My sister was then sent back to Australia and like me her memories of Pee were also wiped clean.

Two years later my cousin came to Thailand to visit my grandparents and auntie. She was also 3 at the time and said the exact same things that me and my sister had said. Her memories were also wiped clean after she went back to Australia. This time the whole house got scared and my grandma decided to knock the house down and rebuild. After this, there was no news about Pee again.

After hearing this story from my parents I researched a little about Thai ghosts. I found out that some that are lonely would appear in front of children since they know that children won’t know what they are. They will then erase part of their memories about them so they won’t carry those memories into adult hood.

I am 13 now and after hearing that story I still can’t remember anything about Pee and I just wonder why Pee would suddenly was to scare me.

    • Vinita says:

The house was already old and I didn’t really know why my grandma would want to knock it down. The house was already knocked down and rebiuld about 4 times now.

        • Vinita says:

yeah, I know, I though that idea was crazy too, but I guess that my grandma was really religious and was afraid. And your welcome :)

      • AnNa bites back says:

does it bother you that someone told you what happened and you cant remember anything?

        • Vinita says:

yeah, it really does bother me. I really wish I could remember, but I guessing that the ghost scared me away cause I said that she wasn’t pretty. ha ha, my bad

  2. Carri says:

cute little story. wonder why the ghost wiped out your memories

    • Vinita says:

I’m not really sure, I think that it didn’t want me to remember anything about it.
It’s usually like this when ghost appear infront of children in Thailand, they usually wipe their memories after they see them
