I visited a forum where people tell their stories about paranormal things happening to them (it was related to a show I follow on television and searched the internet for). There I read what someone claimed and I was frightened:
He said that the demon Azazel escaped from his binding underground and roams the world. He stated that he is a powerful entity and we are like mice in front of him.
Also, he stated that if a man is possessed by this demon, all should abandon all hope, for that person is as good as dead.
What was he based on when writing such terrifying things? Should he be believed or not? I am sure there are here persons who know better about this and can answer. Thanks for reading and replying!

Hi blacktiti89
From what ive read he was on the many watcher angels that came to earth and took a human wife and taught men how to make breast plates, armour, etc. From. The book of Enoch it talks more on these angels that fell as the bible really doesnt get into the specifics of it. I see why the bible doesnt. These angels where supposedly taking to a part of hell and chained until the end of days because of defiling themselves with human woman. At the time of judgement there supposed to be released for Gods judgement…well thats what ive read anyway about it…
Hi Blacktiti89
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azazel According to this he taught humanity how to make weapons, and wear makeup. Seems strange that he would encourage humans to protect themselves if he was a demon .. or maybe he just liked watching the ‘animals’ fight? Preferably in warpaint?
Quite honestly .. I think something that God ‘bound’ would stay bound. I can’t see God doing anything in half-measures, or allowing ‘anything’ to escape from its grasp. But that’s just me.

Azazel is a very old name for a demon that is little known in todays main stream religion.
Alot of old names are resurfacing in TV shows and films because they sound good. For example Lilith and Azazel in the show Supernatural. I think one of the hell hound things in Ghostbusters was called Azazel aswell if i recall..
It’s just an old name, i very much doubt the thing its self does exist. If it does it has no more power than any of the other demons who’s names we presume to know. So don’t worry about it.
Was Raphael not much good at tying knots??
Hi blacktiti89
Here is a couple of stories:
Lord Raphael is said to be the Archangel who bound Azazel under the desert.
“Lord said to Raphael: ‘Bind Azazel hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert, which is in Dudael, and cast him therein. And place upon him rough and jagged rocks, and cover him with darkness, and let him abide there for ever, and cover his face that he may not see light. And on the day of the great judgment he shall be cast into the fire.”
Interestingly, there is a similar story in the Book of Tobit. The demon is called Asmodeus, however the binding of it in the desert by Lord Raphael is very similar.
The Asmodeus of the Book of Tobit is attracted to Sarah, Raguel’s daughter, and is not willing to let any husband possess her (Tobit 6:13); hence he slays seven successive husbands on their wedding nights, impeding the sexual consummation of the marriages. When the young Tobias is about to marry her, Asmodeus proposes the same fate for him, but Tobias is enabled, through the counsels of his attendant angel Raphael, to render him innocuous. By placing a fish’s heart and liver on red-hot cinders, Tobias produces a smoky vapor that causes the demon to flee to Egypt, where Raphael binds him (Tobit 8:2-3).
Asmodeus would thus seem to be a demon characterized by carnal desire; but he is also described as an evil spirit in general.
Either way, Lord Raphael bound this demon, upon God’s command, and so there is no way Azazel / Asmodeus would be able to escape from that binding. Not even Satan itself can free the demon.
Whatever demon those folk on the other forum are refering, it is not Azazel.

He was just trying to sound big and clever. Take not notice, this poster knows not what he is talking about.
