I think the scary part of that story was the "trampling on by the elephants" part. The other wasn't to bad. Interesting. the traveling part especially, though I think I'd rather do that in greece or paris, someplace with room service.

Hi Trolldoll,

"Jimmy" Green Beans is a cute name! There's some lady that walks around our neighborhood every once in awhile who has a pet iguana. She puts a dress and a necklace on it and carries it around on her shoulders.

In fact, after my husband put the little guy outside into the woods, he said that he could have probably of sold it at the nearby pet store. I said that I'll remember that, the next time one happens to fall through the ceiling vent again...YIKES! We have a house that is on high concrete blocks. These houses are pretty common in the Keys, due to flooding from hurricanes. Every once in awhile, a snake will curl up on our front porch. I gotta tell ya, it's an experience going outside. I guess that's to be expected in the tropics. I'm getting use to it, though. You take care and have a great Sunday.

Hi Kirsten,

Very nicely written and interesting story. Thank you for sharing it with everyone. I wonder who that woman was? I'm thinking that she could of possibly been killed while in the jungle a long time ago, and that was her spirit. Also, you were very brave to be out there in that jungle. Especially, due to the fact that something could have spooked the elephants and then everyone would get trampled while sleeping! You're much more brave than I am. I'm a big scaredy cat!! Also, I just LOVE Australia...very beautiful country. Where we live in the Florida Keys, we have iguanas running around freely...YIKES!! They can grow as long as five feet. In fact, not too long ago, my hubby was taking off the vent to the exhaust fan in the hall bathroom, and a foot long (teenager) iguana was sitting on the vent and fell through. Evidently, this little guy had gotten up into our attic via a nearby tree next to our house and found a cool spot to rest for a bit. Well I am totally afraid of lizards, iguanas, snakes, all that stuff! So, when I heard my hubby holler out, "close the door!!" and then I saw this foot long iguana running down the hallway, well you KNOW that I jumped on the couch and started screaming! The poor little thing was so terrified that he pooped and urinated everywhere (I found out later on that that is what iguanas do when then get scared. So, the next time (I sure hope that there won't be a next time, though), I'll try my best not to scream so loud or so much...LOL! There is a happy ending to this story, though, my hubby was able to catch the iguana by the tail, picked him up and put him outside in the woods where he (or she) belongs.

Kirsten, thank you for listening to my story. You're a very good writer. I look forward to reading some more of your stories of the experiences that you have had. And, I'm sure that your mom believed you when you told her of what you saw that night. That would freak me out if I saw something like that!

How scared you must have been! You write very well for your age. Did you ever find out if anyone else saw the same thing, or felt being walked on?

Was it her appearance that indicated she was Swedish? I'm wondering if it wasn't someone who had been drawn to that place in life.

I'm glad you shared your story here. I know sometimes it can be difficult to talk about it when you have seen something like that...just know that you are not alone.
