Dont play with things you dont know how to control, scrying is a gift given to certain people to be used for certain reasons, this is a very serious gift, you should have been given the crystal by someone who specializes in them, dont ever expect to get something from one of these without something being pulled to you, if you are a sensitive person and gifted behind that you can draw certain things to you, your mother had a reason for not liking you to play with these things, the stronger your gift the more dangerous it can be if not used properly. Your picture is that of a demon not a ghost and there is a huge difference.
