Growing up, my grandmother always told me stories of her experiences with the paranormal. She told me it was a trait that she had, almost psychic like abilities. She also told me that since she wasn’t the only one to have it in her family, my sister and I might get it. Well, we both do have the gift, and this is my story of the most terrifying thing that’s ever happened to me and why I sometimes wish I didn’t have this ability.
About a year ago, I was downstairs in my grandmothers apartment. It was raining out, and I opened the front door to watch the rain. Not only did I see the rain, but I saw a black figure with a hood, not run or walk, but float from my lawn to behind my garage. At the time I thought it was all my imagination. Later that same day, I went to lay down in my grandmothers bedroom. Usually, I love to lay down in there because it’s so relaxing, but I found it very uncomfortable. I felt like I was being watched, so I put on the light. I still didn’t feel comfy, so I went back into the living room with my grandma. I told what I saw outside and she told me that she had seen it too.
About two or three weeks later, my aunt had dropped my cousins off because she had somewhere to go. My cousin Robert, who was 10 at the time, was sitting on the floor talking to my grandmother. He got silent and looked like he was in shock. When asked what was wrong, he replied, “did you see that shadow on the stairs?”. What was this thing and why isn’t it leaving?
Awhile went on before this shadow appeared again. Four months ago, my family had come over for a get together. We were sitting in the kitchen talking when out of the corner of my eye, I see the shadow and it floated from my living room into my dining room. I started crying, and I couldn’t control the crying.
A month later, it was about nine in the morning and we had somewhere to go. Everyone was downstairs and I was about to go down the stairs. I heard someone sit on my mothers bed. I though it was one of the dogs, maybe it got locked in there by accident. So I opened the door to let it out, no dog in sight, but it looked like someone was sitting on my mothers bed.
That same day my mother told me she had a hard time getting up and she felt like there was someone holding her down and wouldn’t let her get out of bed. My mother had scratches on her. My mother also claims she knows we’re not lying because she has seen the shadow floating up the stairs.
Can anyone tell me what they think this might be. In my opinion, I think it’s evil. And how can I get rid of it?

I had an experience like your mother did, myself. I wrote about it on this site, about how something tried to attack me while I was asleep. For years, I wouldn’t come up here at night without my crucifix around my neck.
I don’t know what yours is, because I haven’t seen yours. I found a bottle of holy water my grandma keeps and I performed a simple cleansing on the upstairs. You could try that. Find out the religious history of where you live and use those methods of cleansing. It sounds like whatever is there has been there for a while, if it’s strong enough to attack and leave physical damage.
But that’s only my opinion.
Honestly, I can’t help you. Sorry. Me, personally, never experienced something like that….
You probably should ask a priest to do an excorism or ask the landlord about the history of the apartment and the land, if you are interested in what it may be.
I faced the situation when i was i India. I went on a holiday and we were doing bornfire outside the guest house. I went to the room to get some bottles of beer.suddenly, I saw an image moving from the window. I went to the window and started staring at the image. The image was white and shapeless( like Casper) I saw that image going somewhere. Till that time, I was freezed. not by fear but i might be done by the soul. It wasn’t a ghost. It was a soul of a person who died in that guest house few years ago. We came to know from the owner of the guest house when we asked him about the instance happened to me.
Just a peiece of information – India has a lot of villages with a lot of holly histories of many people and ghosts. If you are visiting India anytime, dont forget to visit the old villages and I am sure that you will come to know about a lot of real ghost stories which you have never heared of .

I know about such situations. even I felt the same when I was sleeoing one day. It was like someone is sitting on my chest and I was unable to move my hands and legs. You know what, you can start chanting God name, Start praying to Jejus and the situation will be in control. I did the same thing. i started chanting god names and I was relievied from the situation.
try this out whenever you experience such situations.

It could be that your mother experienced Sleep Paralysis. This is a condition which affects about 20% of the population at least once in their lives. It involves an individual becoming completely paralysed when either falling to sleep, or when waking up. It’s to do with an slight anomaly in the way our brains enter and leave REM sleep and is usually (but not always) accompanied by terrible hallucinations.
It usually happens after an irregular or broken sleep pattern.
Did your mother have broken sleep? was she extremely tired or was she over-sleeping?

the same thing happend to me it was a man not in a hood or andy thing but just in a long cout srry i cant spell good -.- but any way he would follow me everywhere and i have this friend he sees ghost to but only good ghost sadly my family mosty sees bad ones sadly i was curesd with that.but one day i was sitting in the back of my class room and he (the ghost ill just call him he) turn the radio on a off and i asked him to stop he did and we was on the outside of the door and then my friend ramon came and he left and then i said to my friend to be slilent and i ask he if he was scared of ramon to show up on my lefth and if he wasnt on my rite he showd up on my left and i told ramon and so ramon left and then a while later i told my granparents about him and then they started talking bad about him and rite a the side of me where he was he made me cry idk y but i couldent stop and then he left 4 a little. then my father go a new apartment and he stoped showing up and i see he in my fathers house i think he likes it there and srry if i wrote this whole thing -.-”

The thing is called a Charven. Not a ghost. Anyway they’re hard to get rid of and when you try they try to kill you trust me I know.
Meh, ghosts feed off of terror. I’ve been trying to corrolate these types of attacks, but my own hauntings are coming more in the form of nightmares these days… stupid spirit echoes. Do not be afraid of them. Pray with all your heart to God and his son, the Savior.
When you’re done with that search your house for anything that can be used against you. What I mean is, read your ten commandments, then seek out and get rid of anything that might draw this energy to you.
And that is what it is.
Don’t try and communicate. If you do, you only open the door wider. Your best chance is to find someone who knows God and who has experiance with these things. I’ve noted that the more you try to ignore, deny, or fight with yourself or it the more it sticks like glue. I can’t say I’m a pro as I only have minor hauntings. But there are ways that won’t cost you an arm and a leg to pay for. I’ve begun to put my hauntings on paper when they get bad, then destroy it with a prayer to god.
Serious, you may not believe this, but it works. Hauntings are dark radiaces of energy that don’t belong in our homes. They shouldn’t be used for ‘awe’ or tours… No matter where these energies come from, if they were people… it would become no better then living in a zoo. On so many levels, it’s wrong.
But remember! It’s your home. Not theirs for they no longer belong… heh, I know some spirits that are gonna be T’d off with that line.
And yeah, I can do this with a touch of humor because I’ve been experiancing this since I was a kid.
Don’t underestimate the ability to adapt either…
Personally, I think your house is haunted. From your descriptions, I can tell you have an amazing house, but I suggest you to move. I sure can tell one thing: That thingy doesn’t seem to be friendly. My father, when he was 15 or so, saw a thing similar to what you saw, in the place that is my room now! When I first heard it, I laughed, but now I think it might be true…In other words: I AM FREAKED OUT!
all ghosts are demons and there are different levels of them just like angels. but when we die i think we are able to let others know about it.
Karl you are wrong. Not ALL ghosts are demons. Most of them are disembodied humans. Lost souls who should be helped into the Light.

Thats really freaky, its not a ghost its a jinn, to get rid of a jinn you have to get a imam (preferably old cuz they will have more knowledge about it and more experience) and you will also have to be present, then the imam will burn the jinn.I dont know much about it and i cant explain more cuz i dont want to be wrong but my uncle does it and it works. I would suggest to you to pray to jesus whenever you feel something negative ,, this would certainly help ,, and you could try wearing some ornaments like a pendant with the jesus sign ,,
Are you one of the special children born on Feburary 14, 1991.? If so almost everyone born on that day has a horrible curse with them until the age 25 (when you die.) People who have the same b-day as you die on the day they were born.
