The house I lived in as a child was located on the family farm in Southwestern Missouri. The house has an odd shape, like a short and fat “T”. My room was on the upper floor in the stem of the T shape.
One night while lying in bed I looked out my window and saw the strangest thing I’ve seen in my entire life. There appeared a man standing on a ladder next to my window. He was dressed in a purple shirt and tan pants. The part that stands out about him to me is that he was brightly illuminated as if a large spot-light was focused on him. He stood completely still on the ladder, looking in my direction.
After looking in amazement for a few seconds fear set in, and I turned my head towards the foot of the bed and my feet to the headboard. It was hard go to sleep after seeing that.
After looking at the place where the ladder was that night, it should have broken a window. The entire western face of that part of the house is windows. No person could stand on a ladder there. And on that note, I don’t even know if we had a ladder at the time.
I tried telling people in the past, but no one really believes a 10 yr old when he tells a story about a ghost. I’ve held fast to my belief of the event for 14 years. My mom only started to find merit with the story last year after experiencing her own paranormal event in the same house. Now I’m telling the world and I want to know if anyone else has experienced a similar event.
Chances are that I wouldn’t have ever shared this one again if it hadn’t been for a co-worker telling a ghost story at work last night. It’s as accurate as I can remember.

Biff, that may have been an angel.
Well i’ve heard that the first feeling you get when seeing an entity is the kind of entity it is. Also children have their senses undistorted and are more susceptible to living these sort of experiences so i would believe if a kid tells me that there’s a man standing on a ladder more than i would an older person. The type of colors he/it was wearing makes me think of church (purple stoles priests use during lent) and the fact that it had light surrounding him makes him seem a more peaceful sighting. Any other things happen in that house?.
you know i heard a story that some girl wanted to go th her dance long ago, but unfortunatly on her way their she got into a car accident and died…..many years later this guy went to the place where that dance had been and met a lovley young women and danced with her she asked him to walk her home.on her way home she got cold and borrowed his jacket, when they got their they bid their goodbyes. he rememberd the next day i forgot my jacket so he returned to the house and met her parrents “um, i danced with your daughter last night and i need my jacket back……” “what” her parents asked……my daughter died many years ago……. “huh!?” he gasped they showed a picture of the woman the man said …..thats the women i danced with……. later that day he went to her grave………………………………………………………..what was on it………..his jacket -thanks for listening
I would say it was a spirit- An Angelic being would have no need for a ladder. That was the spirits way of having you give permission to enter or not. It seems someone else, did- because now your mum, is having paranormal things happen.
maybe, it was a man who used to live there, He fell from the ladders, and he used to sleep in the room u sleep in, Thats why hes looking after you,,, Maybe..
I think it was an angel and you know how angels come in ways not to scare us, well the ladder was there for that reason, how much would you have freaked if it was just hovering. The light all around it too was for you to know that this was a good being.
I also think that had the angel appeared in your room that too would have been too much for you.
Did anything particularly nasty happen before or after the angel’s visit? I ask this as angels usually appear to comfort us.
I don’t think that it was an angel,sounds more like a lost soul who was trying to get back into the house for some reason. Since he didn’t do nothing but look at you I don’t think he was there to harm you.
