Hello, I once wrote for this website, the topic called Story of my Ancestors, where the readers wanted me to write more. Considering here is about ghost stories, my story will be about a faerie. I don’t know much about this particular faerie, the truth is I never really spoke with him.
This faerie was a gnome, according to legend, a gnome has red cap and beard, they are normally very short, probably around an adult’s knee. They are very moral creatures to legend, and are traditional, hard-working and protectors of animals and guardians of nature.
Here my story begins, I was in my garden one day. I always had interest in faeries, I was a child then, around fourteen/thirteen.
I was a devoted child to nature, and in summer and spring I would spend hours and hours outside. I once bought a book from a near bookstore and read it in my bedroom, (I still do now, I love books), the book was about faeries and legends. I read about how to attract faeries, I was extremely fascinated! I had to do this!
So, I took out some flavorless corn chips, and dipped it into honey and left it into where looked most mysterious, in that place no birds or such could enter, it was a place covered by bushes. Next day, the corn chips was on the rock where I placed it, no bites no nothing and only some bugs on the honey. I was honestly disappointed by I didn’t lose hope or faith in faeries.
Oh well, I did the same for days. Also, the honey was special, not the ones from the town’s shopping center. It was from the countryside, fresh from a farm, we bought it while we were coming from a holiday. Anyway, the corn chips were never touched, no nothing and luckily nobody noticed by actions in our house, they would think I was insane, or most likely a creative child.
However, few days later there were bites on the corn chips, and the honey was completely gone. I was happy, because there were no ants, and I was too curious and I placed one again and came back minutes later. It was gone, at least the honey though, whatever ate it obviously doesn’t like corn chips.
A day later, I saw a glimpse of a red-capped short man with white beard and light brown eyes carrying a brown little sack running, it disappeared after going behind a bush. I was happy that I was spiritually talking with this man. A day later, I saw a bird fly into a bush and I looked into the bush and nothing was there.
But it was apple season, and my tree had grown so many apples! (The tree was near the place where I put the honey-dipped corn chips.) I found honey on one of the apples, I took it as a gift from the gnome. I saw it few times everyday, but I never could speak to it. I still see him to this day.

‘luckily nobody noticed by actions in our house, they would think I was insane, or most likely a creative child.’
….quite.
I saw what looked like a gnome when I was 8, it ran across the floor of my house. It looked kind of see through and all I could make out was it was a small man with boots on.
I’ll never forget that.
These things do exist.
I would love to see them. Could you perhaps give me the name of the book you read about faeries and legends? I realy love to read about these things. deep down I just know they exist. coz where else would someone just come up with these things in fairytails.
Thanx for the story though. LOVED IT
