Seven Shadowy Ghosts at Once

It was either 1987 or 88, I can’t remember. I had just returned from a Memorial Day weekend at Lake Powell. I drove back up to Salt Lake City from Lake Powell to spend the night at my moms house that she was renting and I was flying back to Denver the next day. The house my mom was renting sits in an older area of Salt Lake City on the East side. This house had a full apartment in the basement and that is where my mom and my sister lived. The woman who owned the house had moved out so the main level of the house was completely empty except the master bedroom.

The master bedroom had a queen size bed that was actually attached to the wall. Since my mom and my sister occupied the 2 rooms downstairs, I thought it would be easier for everyone if I just took some blankets and a pillow and slept …

Strange Light in a Utah Cemetery

For some reason, the subject came up of strange things around Monticello, Utah. I am not from there but at the time resided there. I was talking to someone who grew up there, my co-worker’s daughter, slightly younger than I. I figured she would know fact from fiction and rumor, since she grew up there. Then I told her about the cemetery I had gone to there one day. I was out just taking a walk and this one road ended at a cemetery. I told her it was so peaceful there and not spooky like you would expect. Then again, I went in the day time.

We were in her back yard lounging into the early evening. Monticello, Utah is a very tiny town, like you can drive from end to end in one mile. She just happened to live within two right hand turns of the cemetery, probably a mile and a half total. So, I said let’s …

Strange Encounters in Abandoned House

I was living with some friends on 500 South and 400 West in downtown Salt Lake City during the summer of 1996 when we heard stories about an odd house nearby. Me, my Boyfriend Shawn and our two friends Shane and Tina decided to go check the house out.

I knew right away something wasn’t right; the yard was way too well taken care of for an abandoned house. The lawn was neatly mown and the bushes were trimmed neatly, at least out front. In the back yard it looked like a normal overgrown yard. Shawn, Blackjack, our three month old Black Lab, and I walked through the open back door and discovered the second thing wrong with the house. Even though it was filled with garbage from parties there were no bugs or mice.

Before I could explore any further the dog began whimpering and trying to run out the door. I scooped her up and walked further into …

Hauntings in Henrieville Utah

It was a nearly 12 years ago, I was only ten years old at the time. When we had first moved in with my grandma in Henrieville, Utah. My mom and dad had just went through a tough divorce so my mom wanted to get as far away from my dad as possible. Henrieville is one of the smallest towns you will ever find so when my grandparents told us there was finally a house available My mom quickly took it. My older sister quickly made friends with a girl at school named Megan who lived in the next town up (one of three small towns that all went to school together). Megan introduced me to her little sister Geni and quickly she became my new best friend.

It wasn’t long before my mom found a night job and suddenly thought we needed a baby sitter, not wanting to leave the burden of us on my Grandma. Me and my …
