Ouija Board and Chaotic Sleepover

When I was 13 years old I had a couple of my friends sleep over on the weekend. My friends (I’ll call them Brooke and Jenny), were goofing around and decided it would be a good idea to go upstairs and play with an Ouija board. They were pretty excited so I decided I would get into it as well. My mom wasn’t coming home until later that night (she went to a big party).

The upstairs in my house is all one room (it was my dad’s bedroom for the 14 years my mom and him were married) but my dad moved out so it was all cleared out. We set up a circle of candles, turned off the lights, and all of us sat around the Ouija board nervous, and excited.

I’ve never played an Ouija Board before, so this was pretty nerve-racking. We all placed our hands on the planchette and started asking questions like, “Is there …

The Door Opened by Itself

In 2007, when I was turning 11, I had a sleepover with my closest friends. It started off great, at 5:30 PM. Some of them said yes, but about three out of five of the girls said no.

I took the two that said they’d watch out with me into my bedroom to get some pillows, blankets, and a flashlight. Our hallway is quite long, so we put our pillows and blankets around the middle by my brothers bedroom …

Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 10

Have you read the previous parts of this story? Growing up Haunted in Sydney Part 1

Having ‘grown up haunted’ with the full spectrum of experiences; full bodied apparitions, EVPs, apports, residual and seemingly intelligent hauntings, as a family we concede we are probably a little ‘sensitive’.

As a teenager I found I did have a receptive audience for my stories amongst my peers but as a result I don’t recall too many ‘sleep overs’ at my house. One friend who did decide she would sleep over had an experience I never witnessed and I only have her word for it. She was going to be sleeping in my bedroom with me, first on the right along the hall.

We were watching TV, when she got up to go to the toilet, first on the left along the hall and to hear her tell it every door in the hall (6 in total) were all wide open when she walked …
