Huge Black Shadow Encounter in Cleveland

This happened in the winter of 1988 in Cleveland Ohio. In the city! I was 13 years old at the time and was spending the night with a friend that lived one house away from me. My curfew was 9:00 even on the weekends when I was in school. We wanted to walk to the store but I knew if my mom saw us I would no doubt be in trouble, so my friend said we’ll hop the fence in the backyard and go through the alley. The fence was a black iron fence, pretty old and not very high.

Before my friend moved in, 2 sister’s lived in the house together from the time my family bought our house. I was 3 years old. They were pretty old, I’d say late 70′s early 80′s. They sat out on their porch in their rocking chairs and knitted. They didn’t seem mean but would get extremely aggravated when you rode a …

Little Green Haunted House in Lancaster Ohio

When I was a little girl we moved from a yucky gray house on Allen Street in Lancaster, Ohio to A house up the street across from North school with beautiful mint green shingle siding, black trim,a brick porch and azalea bushes in front. when we went to the house the first time there were hummingbirds in the bushes. I loved this house so much I cried. (I was five) I said mommy, do we really get to live here?

She said, we move in tomorrow, lets look inside. So I hopped up the two level red brick porch through the front door right into the realm of the paranormal !

I loved my house, I loved my yard with the ivy and apple trees  and the old lady next door with the butter scotch candy. How could I tell my Mother that if I went upstairs for something after dark, that on the way back downstairs I would feel …

Haunted House on Huffman Avenue in Dayton Ohio

When I was 8 years old my parents bought a very old 21 room house on Huffman Avenue in a historical area of Dayton, Ohio. My dad always worked out of town or state so it was normally just my mother, myself, my 13 year old brother Tim, and my one year old baby brother, Phillip at home. Almost right away as soon as we moved in strange things started happening.

I remember the very first night we stayed there we hadn’t set up our beds yet so we threw a mattress on the living room floor for us kids to sleep on while my mother slept on the sofa. After dark my mom, started a fire in the fire place and we all laid down to go to sleep for the night. My brother Tim, said to my mom, this house is haunted due to the large antique chandelier started swinging back and forth. My mom said Tim, be …

The Portal from Hell Evil House in Ohio

It was snowing in Ohio and we – family – were visiting. We were on our way to a shopping outlet but stopped through some neighborhoods because my mother loves to look at houses. We stopped at one particular house just off the end of a neighborhood that looked to be somewhat Victorian. Old, dilapidated, peeled paint, and cracked windows we still wanted to have look. We called the person to unlock the door and we all stepped in. Immediately I felt evil, something was non-human and just pure evil. The air was thick, just very heavy sensation and the floors (because of the frost) were uneven. I felt like I was in a fun house with some kind of evil magic somewhere.

When I first walked in, there was a beautiful stair case, foyer, and living room. I walked through the living room into the kitchen. I noticed a door that led to a basement but the smell was …

Red Eyed Creature in Ohio Woods

My best friend, Rachel, and I have been friends almost our entire lives. Since 2nd grade, and we are now graduated out of school. The first time I ever spent the night at her house, which was probably around the 6th grade, we saw something.

We both woke up out of a dead sleep and looked at the window. What we saw changed our lives forever. It looked similar to a man, but with red eyes. I thought I was dreaming at first, but the next morning Rachel asked me if I had seen it. That’s when she told me that wasn’t her first encounter with it. She had seen it outside her house, which is up on a big hill surrounded by woods, several times since she was around 6 years old. We have both seen this creature several times since then, both together and separately. It’s taller than the average man around 6 to 7 feet, it’s arms …

True Love Ghosts in Ohio Farmhouse

There’s an old farmhouse in Ohio that contains a sad yet scary story. This home was picture perfect, a perfect little two story home, way back of the road with a lot of acreage and a barn and sheds.

After moving into the home I realized something wasn’t quite right, not horrifying, just a weird feeling. After a few weeks one night when sleeping and was awoken by this creaking noise so I got up to see what it was. I figured naturally it was just the house, but after following the noise it led me to an upstairs bedroom that wasn’t in use yet. Upon opening the door I discovered it was the rocking chair that had been left behind by the previous owners. It was rocking, not as if the wind was blowing it, but as if someone was sitting in it and rocking it. I moved it against the wall to keep it from moving and went …

Killer Imaginary Friend

This story is absolutely true. It happened to me and my twin sister, Charrol. She and I where six, and loved to play dolls. Our family moved to a house in southern Ohio.

Charrol and I began to share an imaginary friend. Our parents thought it was super cute because we would always fight over who got to be “Tara’s” friend for the day. Tara would play dolls with us and drink tea at our tea parties.

After about a year mom and dad decided to tell us that Tara wasn’t real. Charrol wouldn’t have it. She said that Tara was real and that she was very nice. I never thought that my parents would lie to me but didn’t want to give up Tara. I believed my parents.

That night I heard a voice that said, “How dare you Believe your parents! They are wrong! I am here!” And after that I felt something grab my hair and pull …

Friend or Foe

It was a stormy evening in October and me and my son just moved in a house in Ohio. It was night and I was still unpacking and my son was in his room unpacking his things. Then I heard noises from my sons room. I told him not to be playing and to be unpacking but then he said that he was playing with his new friend. I thought he was just pretending until the next morning.

That next morning I was making breakfast for me and my son. he came down from his room and was talking to someone. I thought he was talking to himself. but then he was eating and playing with his cars and then he placed a car at the next seat beside him and then the car started floating. I thought I was losing my mind so I made my son Jared go play in his room while I took a shower.

When …

Glowing Silver Figure from Earthen Mound in Ohio

There’s an earthen mound in Athens County, Ohio which sits in sparse woods beside what used to be a narrow gravel road atop a steep ridge. In those days no one lived near this place for some distance.

My aunt, uncle and cousin used to run the church in Carbondale since it didn’t often have a minister to preach in it. They would come from Conant to the north east to do this and went twice on Sundays, very early and then in the evening which kept them late.

One particular night they were coming along that lonesome road towards home when they saw the shape of a man walking through the woods up ahead. At first they thought he was wearing light clothes and holding some sort of bright light in front of him. It became clear after some time that “he” was glowing a very bright silver color and walking directly from that earthen mound. Whoever was driving …

Native Indian Ghost Experience in Newark Ohio

In the 1960’s I and my 5 brothers and sisters were with our mother at a place known to be native Indian. We passed Dawes Arboretum on the way there and this place wasn’t much further from it. Once there we began walking around the place to see the earthen structures. I now know this place to be in Newark, Ohio. At that time we were able to walk all over the structures. My younger brother ran ahead and rounded a corner.

Not long after that I and the rest of the family, to their horror, witnessed about 5 native Indian boys running with bows and arrows after a herd of deer! It was amazing to see this and they were as lifelike as we were. One of the boys turned and looked right at me as I wasn’t that far from he and his friends. He turned to one of the boys and said something whereupon the boy also …

Haunted Home in Ohio Part 2

If you havent already read the first part of this story you can find it here – Haunted Home in Ohio

We been playing it all out in our minds about what to write about next and I think the footsteps in the snow would be a great place to start.

Not long after my great grandfathers death in the late 1980′s my grandparents decided it was time to start going out with their friends to have a little fun to take their minds off things for just a short while. I was left to be in charge of my younger sister we never liked being home alone but we didn’t have a choice in that matter.

I remember it as if it just happened yesterday it was still daylight outside and my sister and I were in the living room watching music videos with the sound turned up as high as it would go on the only cable television …

Haunted Home in Ohio

My grandparents owned a home in a small farm town in Ohio it was over 100 years old and was built and used for a funeral home. As years went on the funeral home was added onto. When it was sold it became zoned for residential. The second owners only lived there a short time and had it for sale many of years before my grandmother just had to have this house and talked my grandfather into buying it.

Many of things happened in this house every single night from voices, to whispering, hearing screams it even sounded like someone was bouncing a ball upstairs in the house. It got to the point my grandmother would be laying in her bed trying to sleep when she would feel something on her chest like as if it was trying to hold her down. After this happening a number of times she moved her bedroom downstairs. This house is so horrific I …
