Hauntings on Maplewood Avenue Chicago

Growing up as a child and even a teen I’ve witness crazy things happen in my grandmothers house, a regular 2 story house on the south side of Chicago. From the outside it might look like a normal building but if you’ve ever lived here you would know it was far from normal.

Before I tell my story you should know the area in which my grandmother lives was once one of the most evil areas in Chicago due to a lot of prejudice and hate towards blacks so I believe a lot of the neighborhood evil people still lives on just in another form.

My family moved into the house in 1989 2 years before I was born and strange things have been happening for as long as I can remember. This isn’t one full story of one thing that has happened its a summary of everything that has happened in my 18 year old life span so bare …

Ghost of Logan Square

It was September of 1990 and some friends of mine were taking weekend holiday and asked me to house sit for them. Their apartment was a gorgeous grey stone building on Sacramento Boulevard in the Logan Square Neighborhood in Chicago.

I’d been there many times before, but this particular time something felt different from the moment I stepped into the foyer. I was with another person, a friend of mine at the time, and as we got ourselves situated we decided to order pizza. Before the pizza arrived I decided to take a shower in the master bathroom. While I was showering it felt like someone was in the shower stall with me… watching me. I couldn’t see them but I knew someone was there! A feeling of uneasiness came over me and my heart started pounded in my chest. I hurried as fast as I could to dry off. I put on my sweet pants and t-shirt and ran …

Haunted Hampton Inn Chicago Crestwood

During mid January 2011 I traveled from Detroit to Chicago to work on some machinery at a local plant. On the second day of my trip I wrapped up at the plant and couldn’t wait to get back to my hotel: the Hampton inn Crestwood on Cicero Ave.

Upon arrival and watching television I turned off the lights and laid on my side waiting to drift off to sleep. Immediately after closing my eyes, I felt as though I was not alone or someone was watching me. I rotated my head to the left and saw something extremely dark waving in front of my eyes. After lifting my head up a little to get a better look I realized that it was not the blankets waving or anything.

I quickly rolled completely over to the left and I saw a dark mass quickly back away but remain beside the bed.

The mass was only about three or for feet higher …

Ghosts of Logan Square

It was September of 1990 and some friends of mine took a weekend holiday and asked me to house sit for them. Their apartment was located in the Logan Square area on Sacramento Blvd. in Chicago. It was a gorgeous and huge apartment with a foyer and very large rooms. I had been there many times before but this time something felt different from the moment I stepped into the foyer.

I was with another person, a friend at the time, and as we got ourselves situated we decided to order pizza. Before the pizza arrived I took a shower in the master bathroom. While I was showering it felt like someone was in the shower stall with me… watching me. I couldn’t see them but I knew someone was there! I hurried and dried myself off putting on my PJ’s as fast as I could and literally ran out of the bathroom.

I told my friend what I was …

My Cousin RuthAnne

My cousin RuthAnne was killed by a drunk driver just outside Pinkneyville, Illinois in 1969. She and her brother Frank were returning from town that day when the drunk driver hit RuthAnne, throwing her from the bike. They say she died instantly. She was only 11.

We moved to the Chicago area in 1971 and since we lived about 8 hours away from my Dad’s family in Southern Illinois, we used to spend a lot of weekends there. This story happened during two consecutive visits to my grandparents’ house.

RuthAnne and Frank used to stay at the grandparents house and the accident happened right down the street from it. One night my Mom heard a child asking for it’s “Mommy”. Thinking it was one of her 5 children, she got out of bed to check on us. We were all asleep.  She went back to bed.

The next time we visited my Mom woke up in the middle of the …
