My doctor told me i was suffering from sleep paralysis when i was in high school, but he could never explain why i could move. Sometimes i would get out of bed even . strange.

About a month ago i was lying in bed on my back… and was awaken by something im still not sure of to this day…. but in the midst of the fear, i had the sensation that i was being held down and i could not move… i was trying to scream out a prayer, but no sound came out… i also was feeling the rush of air blowing on me…. i fought and tried to pray but it would not let me….. i do remember the feeling of someone crawling up on the bed next to me…and i always feel a presence when that happens ( i stay alone) and then the next im feeling like im being attacked….. this was the worst it has been…. but things keep happening in my apt… i have questioned the history of my unit, but nothing has come out of it….i keep blessed oil in my night stand and i speek faith when i use it…. there are quit a few other incidents that i have endured…. i know it was a spirit… and it was a bad one… and i try not to show fear, but that last time really shook me up to tears to where i had to walk out of the house to gather myself….i have heard voices whisper in my ear…. freezing cold spells when the a/c is off… and it’s 100 degress outside….i have experienced things all my life, and i have pushed it down to a dormant state… and now things are happening again…i feel as if i am to use this talent… but i fear it…. it’s not normal right…?????

Totally normal – nothing paranormal at all. Next time, try to enjoy it. Think of it as kind of like a theme park ride or virtual reality game!

Evn i had d same feeling as ur uncle. I saw an alien type figure. I tried to shout for help bt couldnt. N den i sudenly fell asleep. It ws scary….

I am not sure if my nightmare would be qualified as Sleep Paralysis, but i had a nightmare where my parents made me sleep in the living room because some sort of prescence was on it’s way and then after everybody left some prescence came over me and was like squishing my entire body as if trying to get in, but unable to. but it felt like it entered my stomach then flew above me and i immediatley woke up and was scared because the prescence part seemed to be real and while i was in bed i was so frightened to even get out of bed, it was like someone was watching me.

Im 13 and this just happened to me and I couldnt move or scream and there was a dead girl staring at me and after the sleep paralysis ended my back hurt because of me trying ot move when I was paralyzed.Help.! is this paranormal or scientific because I though I was being possesesed and I thought I was going to die!

I don’t know if this counts or not as sleep paralysis or something else but it happened a few weeks ago.

I live with my mom together in a little flat and I’m not one of the sort who belives in ghosts or gods or anything (I believe in a sorta of attachement) but am still friggtend by such things^^”

Every day my mom went to work around 6am. Sometime I wake up and every time she gave me her good bye in my room and leaf.
This time I woke up and heared the door of our flat shut. Thew sun slowly began to rise outside in the morning. Knowing she is gone I went back to sleep.
Then I had this strange real feeling dream.
I dreamed that I heared the front door open and shut but knowing my mom was gone and woulnd’t come back before 4pm I felt there was someone in the living room. Hearing his footsteps coming closer to my room. I always sleep facing my wall with my back to my door. So even in this dream. I was very afraid then, not knowing who it was. The person stand right behind me and I felt her presence. I wanted to say something but couldn’t and I couldn’t move a single muscle too. Strangely the presence felt a little bit like my mom too so I really dind’t know who it was in my dream. And then I finally was able to move I turend around to look at the person and was….fully AWAKE.
This feeling of this fading line between dream, halfasleep and fully awake faded away in these moments so badly.
I really couldn’t tell for some secounds if I were really awake or still in my dream. If it was reality or imagination that I was awake and what happend.

I really don’t know if this count as sleep paralysis.
But I’m very afraid of this feeling to losing my sense to differentiate between dream and reality since this happening and was much more afraid in this moment.

So what was this happening? Was is a sort of paralysis, a really bad imagination or a misunderstood dream???
I would love to hear some opinions.

I’ve experienced about 4 episodes of Sleep Paralysis with all of the above mentioned symptoms… but never actually felt an old hag sitting on my chest. The feeling that I wasn’t alone was kind of eerie (frightening in fact). But whats really going on here… Well I’ve come to the conclusion that its simply a matter of the mind being wide awake and the body exhausted needing rest. I came to this simply because of my lifestyle touring and sleeping very odd hours. I would sleep at 2 in the afternoon till six or eight. Now imagine going to bed at say 11… whats gonna happen is the body will fall asleep but the brain is always running. When you sleep the body naturally goes into a paralysis mode this is so you don’t get up and walk around hurting yourself (hence sleepwalking).
But when your brain is on high alert and you all of a sudden you wake-up your mind starts racing and yet the body is still asleep and this is wear the fear sets in. No your being attacked by spirits and no your not having an obe (out of body experience). You’ve simply woken up in an instant to full alert but your is lagging behind, after a minute or two your fine. No point posting after this comment… Because this is the real reality of it !!

I had the same experience about some months ago. I was sleeping in my bed and suddenly I woke up, I was not able to move or speak. I told my parents about it. I had twice that experience. I changed my room but still a month ago i had that experience. I don’t remember as what exactly happened.

I actually have experienced the same thing as @pierrre, i felt my bed sheet being pulled from the side and edge (at the feet). Recently i experienced something like Sleep Paralysis, it happened while i was asleep. I remember i was laying on my back and awaken to something touching my body, i couldn’t move my entire body no matter how much strength i tried to summon…

At that moment i felt that something was at the foot of my bed so i looked downward (could only move my eyes), i can’t make out what it was…but i think i saw a girl or whatever and it is trying crawl up from between my legs. I tried to scream but no sound came out…i think i passed out or something because i can’t remember what happened next.

maybe your gran called it stagnation of the blood,iv been there three times,each time before my unborn babies died,and each time it happened it was satan and his menions who were trying my faith,as im a catholic,i cryed out to the virgin mary,who i could not see,but knew she was there with me as she placed silver dust in the palm of my hand,i was puzzled but soon realised it was holy water,i threw it at the demon and then woke up and remembering every thing,two days later i gave birth to my unborn son(rip)i believe he sought the innocence of my sons,but the lord had other plans.thank god it has not happened since.anyway maybe thats what your gran called it.

I faced this kind of horrible situation.there two cause behind this.1..your own imagination.when you are in old house speacially in the village,in old or dark room,atmosphere looks horrible and that time u are starting to believe that ‘ghost’,'jin’ coming for u etc..our science tells that,we face sleep paralize because we forget to take breath in sleep and our brain give a signal to body to take breath,simple.but,when we died,we have our body but what we don’t have is ‘spirit’.sleep is like death.when we sleep our ‘spirit’ lelf from our body.and sometime ‘God/Allah’ want to show us about future or warnings.but when ‘bad air’ or ‘satan’ or ‘evil spirit’ entered into our ‘spirit’,we were starting to feel horrible and trying to spell our ‘God/ALLAH’s name,sentences from our religious books,or anyone’s name that you can trust to get rid of bad spirit..-(i collect this article from a book)..

my family and i had lost our house so we all had to move in with my older cousin. It was in the day and I was sleeping on a bed in my baby cousins room that passed away months ago. I woke up and opened my eyes and right when i did i felt scared and i felt like something was in there with me. I felt some really bad, scary vibes. I looked around and there was nothing, but i still felt so scared. so i tried to get as fast as possible to run and tell my mom but when i tried i could not even lift a finger. I tried moving my toes and no matter how hard i tried i just could not move or wiggle any body part. When I found out my body couldn’t that freaked me out even more and so i opened my mouth and tried screaming “MOM” but nothing, not even a gasp came out. I was so scared. I think it lasted like almost 2 minutes. I don’t remember what made it stop or anything right when I was abled to move I dashed to the door and down the hall to my mom and my cousin! I was teary eyed and a little scared still. It happend one more time after that which was when I was living at my grandmas. This time it was at night, but pretty similar to the last time so no need to explain.

I am in AWE!!!

I have had these ‘attacks’my entire life, and I am 33 years old. I go through the exact same experiences: pressure on chest, something is pinning me down, sometimes a hallucination right before, can hear movement in the home or bedroom, feel a presence in the room….

Look at how many people go throgh this. This is not sleep paralysis nor are these nightmares because we are not alseep.

These are real incidents.

When I learned about the Ancient Alien theory and how the gods (of the bible) and angels were actually extraterrestrial beings, I started to put 2 and 2 together. Could these entities be extraterrrestrial? Made me think of all the alien type movies where they show a person being probed/ abducted by aliens.

They are giving some type of sedative, they hear the movements, assume they are hallucinating when they acutally are seeing something ‘other worldy’, held down by force….

such an interesting phenomenon……

Now I wonder who they target and for what purpose……Comments?

Maria,I read what you said , and I believe what you have is a condition called sleep apnea, I don,t have a lot to go on but when ever you awoke not breathing, you had stopped breathing in your sleep, your body sent a signal to your brain to awaken you , thats a good thing,sometime you can be awaken by a spirit guide, thats a good thing, or angel, thats a great thing. But like I said ;it does not sound like you had a SP experiance, and take my word for it , you do not want to have one, its very frightful, as for sleep apnea, there are many solutions to solving that problem, if thats what it is, just talk to your family doctor, good luck and take care.

when i first had this paralized thing happen to me,i had never heard of old hag,i dident know what it was,i was parlize and could only move my eyes and nothing else,it was horrible,now im a lot older i dont know what i would do if i had it again,i dont think i could handle it,so if it is a old hag,would it do that too me again knowing it could perhaps scare me so much,who knows what could happen,or we could look at it another way,i would know who was doing this now ive read up about it,and think bring it on old hag,cause now i be ready for yar.

I had an experience as well, I was sleeping on my sofa one morning, when I felt as though someone was standing over me. I couldn’t open my eyes, move my limbs nor speak. I could feel my blanket being slowly pulled off me. For the life of me, I could not yell, screaming, shout or move. I could hear the sounds in the room, I could literally feel the blanket sliding off but I could do nothing. This happened at least 7 years ago but I can’t let go this experience. I use to see this ball of white light out the corner of my eye as well, when I turn in that direction it seems to disappear….what could that be?

I can remember my first attack back in college i was alone in the dormitory room i can see everything around but i cant move i can hear small children singing and felt my head is enlarging. i forced myself to move by counting 1 to 3 and gather all my energy to turn on the window side then I was able to wake up since then i have several attacks. before graduation we had a retreat and i bought a rosary and have it vindicated by a priest i put it under my pillow and sometimes hold the rosary while sleeping and it helped the attack stopped for a moment. until now i still have the rosary and it was 9 years ago and i still have it under my pillow. from this moment i still experience s.p. and one time i saw a head whispering in my ear i dont know what she is saying because i dont want to hear it i destructed myself by praying “our father” it was the weirdest attack i ever encountered. i also learned through research that while you’re in sleep paralysis you are awake so one time when i have an attack i can see my mother beside me i memorize the folds in her nighty and when i was able to wake up i looked at her dress and it is the same fold as what i have seen during sleep paralysis. very creepy.
