This story happened at a place, which I am still staying in. My husband and I we live in Long Island, New York. Since, we needed to save some money to buy our own house we have decided to move back with his parents. It has been 4 months since I move back, and both my husband and I have experience weird things happening around the house. Let start with just a month ago.
One night, while me and my husband was in our room watching TV, since it was a Friday night we do stay up quite late. If I remember correctly, it was around 1 O’clock when we heard someone knocking on our door, so my husband got up and open the door. Once he opened it, no one was there. So he was thinking oh maybe Mom or Dad was asking for something and walk back off to the kitchen. You see our room is like maybe 10 steps away from the kitchen, so if she or he did knocked and walk back you should still see or catch her or him on time while we opened the door. Since my husband didn’t see Mom or Dad at the kitchen, he walk out to the living room to see if they were there. Strangely enough both my mother in law and father in law passed out in front of the TV at the living room. Which is quite strange, since how could anyone just knocked on someone’s door and walk back to the living room and just passed out like that right? Anyways, I thought I will have a chat with my mother in law about this , since she believe in the supernatural. My father in law on the other hand hates it when we even mention the word GHOST.
So the next day, I when on with my plan and have a chat with my mother in law about this incident. She looked at me and as if she looked relief and start telling me how she had similar encountered. She said many times she have tried to explain to my father in law about things happening in the house he goes ballistic on her, so she gave up and tried to think as if maybe she is hearing things. She told me while my husband was at school in college and since my father in law at that time is still working , she will always be alone at home until late at night. At those time she will hear things like as if our garage door is open and someone is coming home, when the door is shut. Sometimes she would hear her alarm goes off on weird times, while she is sure she only set it for 9 am and it goes off at 6 pm. Also at times while she is about to take a shower at her room, since they have the master bedroom, their bathroom is also at the room she would also hear knocks at the bathroom door and while she call out or open the door no one was there.
After the chat we have, I have to say if it is an entity we have in the house its been around for a long time. I have always wonder who could it be that roam around the house. Since I was told many times, when my father in law brought this house it was brand new. So I was thinking, then it wouldn’t be no past owner or resident. Till now I am still uncertain who may this entity be, but since he/she ain’t really doing harmful things to anybody in the house. I guess we can still live in harmony together.

Hi Kutin,
Though the home you are residing in is new.. the land that it sits on is not..
Do you know what was on the property before their house was built? Maybe doing alittle research will answer some of your questions..
From what you described it doesn’t seem to be malicous in anyway.. just knocking and making sounds.. Although that alone can be very unnerving too!
At least you can be comforted , knowing that you and your husband will soon be moving out and into your own home..
Please keep in touch and let us know if you experience anything else.. and take care!

I agree- the house may be new but the land may well hold the key to the haunting! I too say check land deeds. I would have the house blessed (when your father-in-law is not going to be home) as to not upset him… I’d put crucifixes up as well. I am glad you are not alone in these experiences.
