i agree with you caretaker as well yes emi, you suffer sleep paralysis it has occured your whole life….what if it doesnt occure your whole life….can you honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that your conclusions are true???? that science is always right?? you do realise that scientist will try to rationalise any thought or experience they find irrational, and who are you to say that this person or the rest of us have not researched sleep paralisis?? as I experienced this 4 times in one night…… i did research what it could be, but my experience just didnt fit the description…so before you get all scientific on ppl you should learn to not be so close minded as many people who have had experiences are practicing christians as i am, and do believe in the scientific aspects as well….but when science fails….all we have is faith.

i completely relate to your story, almost word for word.
i got to a high point of ‘playing’ with ouija board, dungeons and dragons, dark rock music, dark-minded prose writing in notebooks, etc. until a non-’by the rules’ religious born again experience where i actually received what i have to call the holy spirit.
nothings been the same since (thank goodness
and yes it got to the point where i could feel or almost *see*, sense, somehow like a darkness in my familys house i knew it had something to do with me and i had an overwhelming sense of doom, like something bad was going to happen.
but that all was cleared upon my religious awakening.

ironically i get that ‘sleep paralysis’ thing… although i never attributed it to anything demonic… but reading this, maybe it is?? even tho i consider myself free from that nonsense since way back when. perhaps there is something to this? i assumed it was normal for this to happen, but i guess i didn’t really know anyone else it happened to when i mentioned it.

This all sounds like a Christian just trying to convert people on this site. I don’t think its a bad thing, but the story sounds a bit made up and there is a lot of preaching in it. I realize that religion can play apart in these stories, but I read them for fun, not for church education.

apparantly you only get sleep paralysis when you sleep on your back.i had something happen to me before but i know it was sleep paralysis cus i dont sleep on my back i always slept in the recovery position dont know why lol. but what happened to me scared me half to death i never want it to happen again.if you havent read my experience then read NIGHT TERROR OR DEMON POSSESSION? http://www.trueghosttales.com/paranormal/night-terror-or-demon-possession/

I’ve never had anything like this happen to me and I am so glad for it. My cousins told me they had, though. That was the first time I had ever heard of it. One said the medical term for it is ‘sleep paralysis’ but many of the symptoms cannot be explained. They said when you get it, you can’t move or do anything. But once you tell the demons to leave and cast the demons out in the name of the LORD, Jesus Christ, you can move. One said that he had left a window open to allow the demons to come in. He had been a member of a prominent fraternity in college and this fraternity had it’s roots in the occult. Even though it used certain Bible scriptures in the ritual, these verses were twisted by the fraternity to mean things they didn’t. Once he realized what the window was he cut all ties with the fraternity, sent his letters and pins back and wrote3 a letter to the president saying why he did this. After he cut ties with the occult, this quit happening. I encourage people who are having these problems to pray! Identify what ties you have with evil and the occult and cut those ties! If this doesn’t work then speak talk to someone such as a trusted pastor to help. Don’t stop praying!

I wonder how many people with “sleep paralysis” would never have another “episode” again, if they would at least try, with faith of course, to rebuke it in the name of Jesus. But I also wonder how many people in mental hospitals, or who are on medicine for a mental condition, would be set free of their conditions if an exorcism were to be performed on them. This is only my opinion, but I’ve got a feeling that it would be a large percentage.

i am so glad to hear your story..i was browsing to read about ouija boards and the effect they have on people…it’s amazing how bad the experiences are…i too am a born again christian…i was born into a christian home but like you grew up to be nominal at best…my story is of addiction and stuff but i messed with a board at a slumber party once when i was around 11 at a slumber party…nothing came of it because i had praying parents that were on fire for God…i never messed with it again but i did other things and now am a fierce warrior for the Lord…we deal in a very spiritual world and our dealings are not flesh and blood and where there is evil…there is holiness…and the answer is God…thanx for your comment and soldier on and let the people know that Satan is out to destroy them but Jesus came that we could live…carry on…

Hi John,

Well, I can definitely believe how evil/darkness/negativity allow doors to be opened. I haven’t experienced this myself but my brother did and I have no doubt he experienced what he did.

At the age of 12 he was introduced to the gang life and was involved in drugs, assaults and many things I will not go into detail about. We were the youngest of six, he being the youngest of the boys and me being the youngest of the girls, and are less than 2 years apart in age. I was his confindant and he shared many things with me. As time went on, he himself started being more tempermental and at his worst, he told me that he got exicted at the sight of blood when fighting/stabbing, etc.

During the ‘height’ of his criminal activites and evil acts he did get a visit he would not soon forget. As he was laying in bed one evening, he noticed dark globs and such hovering above in. Nothing distinguishable about them, just the fact that they were darker than dark and noticeable. These globs continued to swirl around and above him and before he could react, they swarmed down and entered him. He said he felt a jolt/twinge……scared him a bit and then he just proceeded to go to sleep.

Eventually, he abandoned the lifestyle due to circusmtances and having to be a responsible dad (before he was 18, mind you), and he became a Christian. He got his life together and changed his life around. However, some’thing’ was not happy with this new direction and paid him a visit. Again, he was in bed and lo’ and behold there stands Mr. Darkness appearing as the horned one with a tail and all and RED to boot! He tells my brother that he is his child and is his……….my brother is scared but replies that he is now a child of God and he rebukes him……..Mr. D laughs and says ‘no’ and at this time my brother feels a weight on his chest and is having trouble breathing…..my borther continues to rebuke the bad guy and eventually, he disappears into the night.

From what i have been told they are the same thing sometimes referred to as spirit boards also. This man is SO lucky that prayer alone worked… usually it clears it up for a time but usually more help is needed. I personally have great faith in Christ and know He took care of this family.

This is the last time i’m commenting on here.

On the headaches topic, i was more talking about the migrain or random headache.

On the sand topic, actually thick layers of sand can move, it’s called something like “granular migration”. It happens in desert locations with fine sand. And it can, and sometimes does, cause water-like erosion.

Also, i am skeptical about what the news and my peers tell me. That’s why i was suspended from middle school for a week.

Actually what I gave in quotations was a direct quote although you didnt say “i believe any of those without a doubt in my mind”

“Headaches are felt at parts of the brain but much evidence points to the fact that it has a centralized cause.” That is a quite different statement whith a completely different meaning than “but they’re always in the same part of the brain” and as I said I have spoken with several doctors over the years about my headaches and it is a FACT that they happen in different parts of the brain and that is precisely how they try to determine whether or not it is a migraine, or other type. Also here you throw in the word “cause” which is not the same as location. But this too is wrong. Headaches do have different causes, such as sinus pressure caused by sinusitus; blockages, tumors, etc. In fact ‘they’ know very little about headaches.

How can you ask me if I believe that sand just stands still? Only the top layer of sand flows like a river. Geologists discovered (in the 1970s) that the Sphinx was eroded by water not by sand, the two ‘materials’ leave completely different marks on rock. Yeah sand can flow but the sand particles do not leave markings the same way as water. I have watched a lot of programs about Egypt over the past few decades and I have read a lot of books. Guess what? Nearly all of them disagree about the details and contradict each other on a lot of major issues.

I didnt want this to turn into a discussion about headaches and the Sphinx. Those are just some examples of the point I was originally trying to make and now they have become almost like a smoke screen and the original issue almost forgotten.

It is fine to be a skeptic and I consider myself to be one of the biggest but you should be skeptical about everything not just the paranormal stuff. Be skeptical about what the news tells you, what the ‘experts’ say, and even what your parents and teachers tell you.

I never said that i completely believe those. Give me one quote where i say that i believe any of those without a doubt in my mind. Just because i may agree with them it doesn’t mean i think they are the only explanation but i do think that they are a good explanation.

The animal dreams one was a typo. I mistakingly typed “all” out of habit.

Also, the sand flows like a river, i have seen sped up footage of sand in Egypt flowing. Sand does flow, is that the answer to the erosion of the Sphinx? I don’t know but it seems like a good explanation to me. It doesn’t flow quickly like water but it does move. Do you believe that the sand just stands still?
