When I was growing up, I constantly heard my older brother and sister telling my mom that they swear our house is haunted. My sister lived upstairs with her husband, who was back then her boyfriend. My older brother’s room was right below my sisters kitchen. I didn’t believe in ghosts when I was younger, because I saw my mom always shrugging it off and had it explained to me that maybe they were just hearing things.
My house was built in the early 30′s, during the great depression, where a man from Italy bought the house with his wife. They had a son, and the day before his wedding, he was in a car accident that took his life. We heard that the man was never the same, and then a few years later, his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We are not sure if the man moved back to Italy and passed there, or he stayed and died of a broken heart.
I didn’t start to believe in anything until I got older, especially in my teens. I started to notice, that even as a child, I felt extremely uncomfortable in my kitchen or upstairs in my sister’s house alone. As I got older, I started to recognize this feeling I always had of someone watching me closely. My sister and my brother still complained also, telling my mom that it sounds as if a little child is running around at night. This couldn’t be at the time, because my niece was just born and couldn’t run. The cat would run around, but my brother swore that he knew the difference, because it sounded like a human being running around.
Several years later, I got the experience that I was waiting for, for what seemed like forever. My sister and her husband went out for my sister’s birthday, leaving me to watch my niece and nephew. They went out late, and the kids were already asleep, so I went on the computer in my sister’s room. My sister was in the process of moving out to her first house, so the kids were right in the next room, which was the living room. Nobody was upstairs in the attic, or kitchen, except for my sister’s cat whom I could see laying down diagonally from me on a mat. To his right is the pantry door, which leads to the attic. I cannot see the door. I had on the kitchen light and my sister’s bedroom lamp light on.
I took a break and looked at the cat. I started calling him and then tried to get him to walk towards me. I was just playing around with him, until I heard what sounded like a little boy exhale really loud, or giggle in the pantry. I sat frozen, looking at the cat, as I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and goosebumps all over my body. As it registered, I realized that right when I heard that noise, the cat jerked his head towards the pantry and focused on it for about a minute.
I felt excited and completely freaked out all at the same time. I tried to debunk it in my mind over and over, but I never came up with a good answer. About an hour later I was still on the computer. It was completely quiet until I started to hear footsteps walking softly upstairs. I got the experience I wanted, and then took my sister and my brother’s stories seriously.

your first experince and nothing bad always good.since your brother and sister told your mom,and didnt believe them, did you tell your mom what you heard?or your mom heard stuff too and pretend nothing happened.thanks for the story.
No my mom started believing us once we recorded what seemed like an intelligent haunting. My brother put his video camera in the pantry one night, and he went into the living room where my sister and husband were. In one part, it sounded as if someone was playing with the camera, and then we heard a little boy say “Don’t touch it.” About 10 minutes later, my sister walked in to the kitchen to get some snacks. She said something like “If your hearing all this rustling when you review the tape, its just me!” And she laughed then walked away. About 2 seconds after she left, you can hear a little boy say 100% clearly “She left.”
We sat for hours trying to debunk this, saying everything from “Maybe it was the kids talking in there sleep” or “Maybe they walked downstairs and played with their camera.” We even suggested that maybe it was the cat. Only problem is, my nephew just started learning how to talk, so it couldn’t be him. Maybe my niece was walking down the steps and playing around with the camera? Another problem is, we would’ve heard her walking down the stairs. They’re old and creek very loudly, I can hear it from the other side of the house, if someone was walking down. Another problem is, my niece wouldn’t have said “She left.” She would have said “Mommy left.” And again, its a little boy. Last but not least, I don’t think the cat can talk.
well thats good you did something about it.trying to find out stuff.do you know who the boy is?it sounds like there not there to hurt you and your family.it sounds like he doesnt know he’s dead.i dont know.thanks for commenting me back, and if anything else happens do tell us we would like to hear them.
i agree with you. i think that the child don’t actually know that he is dead poor kid it is better to have a benevolent ghost than a malevolent one.nice investigating anyway ^^V
Lmao. Yeah he doesnt seem like a bad spirit at all. He seemed to like my sister very much, especially when she had kids. I rarely had expriences compared to her crazy ones, except for my story. =]
I have alot of stories, but that was the best one. If I have more experiences I will definitely post em!
SCARY! There must have been something there for the cat to look as well….I am glad she was moving out of there! Yes there is a dimension beyond ours…
That is scary…cats look at things for a bit of time if they hear/see something. The cat would not just look in the same direction for no reason. Also, how old are you and what age did you experience this ??
Exactly. It still gives me goosebumps everywhere when I think about it. I was about..sixteen. My mom believed us once my brother, sister, and I recorded some things upstairs. I think about it from time to time, and try to debunk it over and over..but I know for sure that it wasn’t from this planet.
whoa! if you read my story i had that same exact experience happen to me. my sister & i were just sitting on the living room couch when we heard a loud, exhale, but we knew it was a girl.
hahaha great story
Looks like I’m not alone! haha. Thanks. Its really great to hear someone who had a similar experience. The feeling is incredible when you hear something, huh? I can’t even begin to explain what I felt.
