My Haunted Encounters Part 1
May 16, 2008
They say 3 out of 10 people will have at least 1 or more of a haunted experience in their life, some without realizing it. My name is Krystal, 17 years old, and here are 2 of my recent haunting experiences.
First off, I have knowledge and have researched, studied the paranormal.the subject is and still does continually if not often fascinate me. I’m not a naturally born with strong psychic powers, but I sense things more better than the average person.Right now,I am training myself to be able to become a medium: that is, to be a person who can have contact to the “otherside” I have success in seeing auras; but that’s pretty much all what I can do, so far.
I’ve always been told, that ever since that I was born, I’ve been and had always been involved in some activity not of this world; when I was younger, my parents unwittingly lived in haunted houses, where I guess I was the usual target, to all of the activity; when I was a baby, the couch I was on would be moved dangerously across the room, and when we lived in apartments, a ghost of a man who committed suicide there would talk to me, and play with me.
Now I live with my aunt and uncle. When I was younger, it was often on and off, but nonetheless it is my second home; I don’t live with my mother anymore due to the fact that she and I have bad ties, and don’t - can’t - tolerate each other. The house that my aunt and uncle know of is relatively clean, and free from anything negative or spiritual presence. [not counting the area around it; just the house.]
The most recent experience that happened and still continues today, started a month or two ago. One of my aunt’s sisters, who lived in the Philippines, died from a disease/cancer. To be honest, I really didn’t know who she was; I had seen her in old pictures from back in the day, but as far as I know, I nor any of my other siblings had met her, or even heard of her until we got the letter of her death. From what I had gotten from all of what they told me of her, she was somewhat an interpersonal soul, who cared about her family very much. My aunt had kept in contact with her through letters [my folks are old-fashioned] up until her death.
That night when I heard her death, it felt strangely odd in the dining room. As we sat there at the table discussing her death, I felt like I was being watched - but of course, none of them felt it. I am not paranoid or anything, but I felt like someone was staring at the back of my head. After we finished talking, my uncle went in the den to watch some TV, it was about 9:00-10:00 pm. I announced that I would retire to bed. I remember it was a Sunday, and I wanted to get to bed as soon as possible because I get up 2 hours early just to walk to school [I had a stalker, so I was avoiding him as best as I could.] I quickly got ready for bed, and fell into a deep sleep.
When I came home from school the next day, my aunt asked if last night I had gone up to use the bathroom. I simply replied no, but she wouldn’t accept it. I asked her why, and she said, she was washing the dishes, around 12:00 to 1:00 am [by the way, my uncle is still up watching TV in the den which is across the house.] when she heard footsteps from my room, down the hallway. She said that it was strange, because I had just gone to bed a few hours ago. She knows that and that I never get up in the middle of the night to go and use the bathroom, and if I ever did, I usually went to the bathroom if I ever felt sick.
She stopped washing for a few moments and a saw a shadow cast upon the wall on the way to the bathroom and saw the light to the bathroom come on. She walked up to the bathroom to check up on “me”– she called my name, but no reply. The light was on, but “I” didn’t answer. She went back to doing the dishes when she heard the lights turn off in the bathroom and heard the footsteps disappear. When she checked up on me, she noted that I had left my door cracked open. Odd, she thought, because I am one of those people who ALWAYS close their doors. When she told me this, I took it into consideration, but brushed off. It didn’t feel major, and it didn’t concern me until a the next morning and the following afternoon later.
I got up at 5:00 am and got ready for school. I was well awake; I am and will always be a morning person, and in the morning, I am usually very alert. Besides, I had to be because often I walk to school while it’s still dark; so I have to be careful for any predators, but even at that, I know how to take care of myself in these situations.
This particular morning was dark, but the street lights were on, and it was a warm morning. It wasn’t foggy or anything, cold, or windy. I couldn’t see my breath. The air and environment was just right. Well, as I walked off my driveway, towards the closest streetlight, I happened to look up and noticed a foggy, bright white/silver wavy cloud materialize under the light. I stopped and just kept looking at it; it came down in front of my just a few inches and disappeared. When it broke, I felt icy cold, and just overall wind, like when someone blows a fan in your face. Disturbed, I continued my hour walk to school noting the fact that there wasn’t a breeze in the air the whole way nor was it freezing cold either. I thought about it on my way home, and hoped for something like such ,but alas, I didn’t and haven’t so far since.
Later on when I got home that day was the other encounter. Being left alone a lot, [luckily with 2 adorable small watch dogs by my side] I usually don’t get at all scared as on might be: as long as I know the doors and windows are locked, I feel as safe as can be.
While I was in my room with both dogs, and both parents working graveyard until 12:00 am, I got up to fix myself something to eat, then go back to writing in my journal to find “orbs” - white balls of light, 95% common in hauntings, ghost energy zooming across my living room on my way to the kitchen!
Dumbfounded, and confused, I stopped walking and just stood and watched; the orbs ceased as well. I slowly started walking backwards, totally berserk of what I had just stumbled on, and then the orbs started zooming again, 3 of them.
I reluctantly made my way to the kitchen, just hoping what I saw was nothing, but I knew what I saw was real. When I prepared my meal to eat in the room, the orb shot from the ceiling and to the ground right in front of me; I nearly dropped my meal out of fright, but managed to collect myself from spilling anything. I quickly left to my room and didn’t come out for the rest of that night. Since then, every time I walk past my living room, in the mornings and nights, I always come across orbs zooming through and around my living room, even when I’m standing in the middle of it. I’ve learned to deal, hell, even acknowledge it, by calling them out, letting them know I’m here, and they usually float towards me.
I kept it to myself for awhile from my family, until a few weeks ago, who say they haven’t seen any activity, but the doors open occasionally, or weird noises are heard from the living room. I told my friends about what I see, and they simply in disbelief, most believe me, but the others seem to not. the ones that do, know of what happened in the woods a few summers ago.
A few summers ago [summer of 06-07 I think] when I used to host parties [the ones with no alcohol or drugs, we were clean] we had just discovered a trail from a few blocks from my house that could and did lead to my favorite nearby park with it’s raging river near it. We didn’t think of it really as haunted, even thought we saw this oldĀ broken vintage jeep that had caught fire a long time ago, in one of our trail paths. We thought of it as a wonderful, adventurous shortcut, then walking down the main road just to get to the park; we took it often as we could.
The trail is on a woody cliff area that is very dangerous when it is dark, because of strangers and sickos, not to mention falling to your death down the river. For fun, when I hosted my parties, I’d have us hike up there for the hell of it; until one night that made us stop going there altogether. My party this time only had 10 of my closest, trusted friends, and we had spent the rest of the day playing down at the park.
As it started to get dark, I noticed that everyone was still jumpy and a bit agitated; it was summertime, and everyone was in that mood to do something exciting. We decided to take the trail from the park to the woods, that would lead us back home. We had never done this before, as in take the trail leading back home from the park while it was getting dark; it was usually the other way around. But, there’s a first time for everything, and we had our cellphones, so we weren’t so concerned. We climbed the hill that led to the entrance to the trail from the park. It’s a very steep hill, slippery and hard to climb even with the best of boots. Its made up of rocks, and trees surrounding it at the bottom - one false move and you were guaranteed a “broken something”. But we all made it up there safely, all 10 of us, and when we got up to the heart of the woods it was pitch black, because of the trees surrounding it, making it darker.
It was about 6:30pm, and of course we were afraid; especially me, since I was leading, and I didn’t have my glasses on, [I can't see far, but I can see up close] so I couldn’t see a thing. Besides that, I was extremely uncomfortable, and more so creeped out, for I could again, feel like I was being watched, but I decided to not to complain or speak of it, because I didn’t want to frighten anyone. I inadvertently led the group to the jeep, and we stopped there to collect and gather our wits together, we huddled like penguins.
My friend Stephanie, the more outgoing and oldest out of all of us [I'm second oldest] started posing near the jeep. She wanted us to take pictures with her, but the jeep gave me this eerie feeling, and I declined; so did everyone else. While my friends took pictures on their cellphones, my other friends Jordan and Melanie at the time took pictures of Stephy with their Digital cameras - which they took care of constantly, everyday. After at least like 10 minutes standing there taking pictures we decided to leave. As we neared the exit, I got this peculiar feeling again that we were being watched, and as I thought of this, the pungent smell of Vinegar or something to that substance strung the air. EVERYONE SMELT IT. In fact, everyone [including I] bitched about it after when we got to my house.
When we later looked at the pictures on my friends’ cellphone all they got was nothing but darkness. But when we look at Jordan’s, and Melanie’s pictures that they took of Stephanie and the entire area, we noticed orbs in all of them. And few feet from my friend Stephanie’s face, was the ghostly face of an Indian. We literally freaked out. I’m pretty sure we all got goose bumps, too. (I know I did) Most everybody immediately went home, scared out of their wits. The few of us girls that stayed the night, we talked about it like there was no tomorrow.
The next morning, the group assembled again, and all of us went back with my uncle to examine the site. As we walked, he told us of how the natives near here used to bury their loved ones on cliffs that were situated near water to supposedly help their love ones on the way to the afterlife. As he told me this, a cold shiver came over me.
We searched the area of the jeep to see if pieces of glass could have caused a glare for the pics, making them seem like orbs; but there wasn’t. Nothing there gave us evidence of any kind. We also searched the area for maybe a broken bottle of alcohol, or something that would cause the whiff of vinegar we smelt that night, but no evidence could tell us from a physical standpoint that it was from alcohol.
We went back to the woods a few times since then, to gather more evidence of the ghostly activity. We got some more orb pictures, but that was it; we wanted to do the “white noise thing” - the electrical communication thing with spirits; but never got to, because of uneasy feelings.
We’ve never returned again as a group. As far as I know, I don’t know of any of my friends going in there; in fact they usually stay far away from there as possible, because of all the bad vibes they get from it. It’s very seldom that I go alone, ever since the incident. Before, I had no problem; the last time I went however, I ended up sprinting back in fear because of my uneasiness and sights that I was seeing and hearing; things moving on their own, random sights of dogs coming out of nowhere, rustling of the bushes even though there isn’t any wildlife there, nor a breeze strong enough to get in the denser parts that I was in.
So, here you are: here’s my honest, to God testimony. I honestly don’t care if you believe me; I just figured that you who believe would like to hear some more truth to confirm of what they already know; ghosts and spirits are real.
Anywho, those were the recent experiences that I’ve encountered in the past 3 years. I will submit more of my experiences at a later time, but for right now, later. ’til then, I’ll talk to you guys later, okay? I believe you. I dont understand why someone wouldnt believe you, i hope you reliaze though, that communicating with the dead can be dangerous, so be careful.
That is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!.. i would be soo stoked if i had that type of opportunity to communicate with spirits and to EVP work… Is is weird to say that im jealous? lol.. ive had some experiences too but none really clear enough to post a story .. its been about 10 years since ive lived in the house that ive had the spiritual activity and the more years that go by the more details get fuzzy… lol..
but anywho.. i was completely captivated by your story
