I am a Native American, so I’m not easily scared. I have heard all kinds of ghost stories and seen alot of weird things especially at feast and funeral. These are stories of my dad.
My dad, Mike, passed away five years ago. About a year before his death strange things started to happen to him. Such as, while everyone was asleep one night he had slept on the floor of our living room when something kicked his ankle, it had left a bruise. He had yelled for my mom to help him up. Naturally it had woke my two sisters, brother and me up. You could tell it just happened because it was still red and started to swell.
Another, he kept having dreams of some old drinking buddies that had already died. In his dreams they keep asking him to come for a ride with them. He said it gave him an eerie feeling that if he got in their truck he might not wake up the next day, he always told them he would later. He said it felt like he was released, and he would wake up.
Also, he drank coffee every morning so after he was done with his favorite mug he would wash it out and leave it by the coffee maker. One morning it had disappeared, all of us were questioned about the missing mug. After an hour spent tearing up the house looking for the cup, he had called off the search. When we finally finished getting dressed for school we all loaded in the car. Pulling out of the drive he had spotted his mug sitting on top of a fence post! That happened several times afterwards.
My uncle was in a nursing home the night my dad had died. Before anyone could tell him he had passed away we walked up to my brother’s girlfriend, who worked there at the time, he had said he wanted to go home for his brothers funeral. She asked him how did he know Mike had died. He told her he came to visit with him, and asked him to come too. My uncle died six weeks later.
Two weeks after the funeral, I was driving my younger sister back from a basketball game in my dad’s jeep. About a mile from my mom’s home an owl flew next to me. My sister was asleep and would not wake up to look. So I was the only one to see it. My grandma said I might have been my dad warning me, because two days later I flipped his jeep in the same spot I noticed the owl. No one was hurt, I just happened to put on my seat belt and told my two passenger to put there’s on too.
My husband, Chris, also has heard from my dad. The year after his death Chris, boyfriend at the time, was in the tool shed that still has a lot of my dad’s belongings. Like some of his bead work, drum, pictures, and tools. I was coming out of the house to help Chris find some tools when I saw him burst out of the door of the shed. He had said some man was singing an Indian song to him. My mom lives out in the country with no neighbors for half a mile. I believe my dad is still here and watching over us.

wow, that story is amazing. I’m from Australia and for some reason i find Native Americans to be facsinating…dont know why…very cool…
Woah! That IS weird!!!
I like this story because I believe things like this do happen. And Native American People are very spirital and I believe that they are closer to things that most people don’t understand or even know about.
I am so sorry about your Dad… then you lost your uncle… so sad. It was as though he knew it was coming though. I have heard that owls are carriers of news and obviously that owl was a warning for you. SO GLAD you and your friends were uninjured in the jeep accident! Thank heavens you wore your belts! get into the habit of always wearing it! I am glad that your dad has let you all know he is still with you. Great story- thanks for sharing!
