Is it Sleep Paralysis?

Posted on July 15, 2011

I have had four encounters with what the doctor says is Sleep Paralysis.

It all started last year when I woke early hours in the morning with the feeling of not being able to move, not scream, eyes wouldn’t open fully only slightly and when they did open I saw a black cloaked figure who sat on top of my body pulling something from my chest. Shutting my eyes again trying to scream and when my eyes opened once more it vanished.

This happened a further three times all between 4 – 5 am but the fourth time was different, this time when I opened my eyes there were two dark figures that I could see through corner of my eye; one on top of my chest another at the side of my bed. This time I fought. I tried screaming harder than ever before and I managed to wriggle and fight it off me and kick it then they vanished… ever since it hasn’t returned.

Unless its happened to you nobody would ever understand how much it terrifies you and how it makes you feel violated. I can’t sleep at night now without a night light in case it happens again, I suppose I should be grateful it hasn’t happened since but it scares me even to this day that it will happen again.

The reason I’m telling my story on here is because I want to know – are the doctors right? Is it sleep paralysis? or is it something much more? more than anyone could ever know? I can’t really trust what doctors or scientists say these days they pretty much cover up everything that could scare people from the unknown… I may be talking daft, the doctors may just be right but who knows?

You were under attack. I have had these paralysis, but i have never seen what was attacking me. mine do not last to long because I pray. Try praying, and ask for protection. but too, when you pray make sure that you are specific about what god you are calling. Ourt Fathers name is Jahovah. in case you dont know. if you just say god you could be calling any god because god is a title. but when you call out by his name ,he know who you are calling . OUR CREATOR. Bless you and Pray.

Hi Anita, as I have told everyone that I talk to that comes here with sleep paralysis problems, you do not have to suffer with this. I do firmaly believe that it is a physical sllep condition that occurs during our half awake/half asleep cycle. However, you are correct in your assumption that there is another part to this puzzle. What causes this “sleep paralysis” to happen once in a while, severral nights in a row, and then stop for maybe ten years and come back. It is the belief of many and lots of research has been done on it and it turns out that it can be a physical and spiritual issue at the same time so it requires some physical and spiritual solutions. There is a solution and you can get rid of this sleep paralysis forever. Go to http://stopsleepparalysis.org and spen some time there reading hundreds and hundreds of testomonies where people have been able to quickly and easily end these nightmares. Go there, check it out, read the success stories and do it. The biggest thing you can do is follow what the website tells you and when you have overcome sleep paralysis you can come back here and tell others on how you got rid of it. God Bless and look forward to hearing back from you.

I had this countless times. Once when I had this Sleep paralysis. I didnt knopw what it was. It was the first time Ive had this. But here is the story. I was sleeping. I wanted to wake up and then get up. I had a guni pig and a bunny that was in my room. I was 12 and I am now 13 going on 14. I was dreaming about my guini pig having babies with my bunny cus they stayed in the same cage. And after that My eyes opened. But I couldnt get up. I was like WTF? I started to freak I looked around. I was faced to the walle scince my bed was by the wall. I was looking at it. The I looked in the hallway. And I saw this black thing in the way. And I freaked and tried to yell MOMM. but I realized I wasnt saying anything. And I closed my eyes. And thought, its a dream? right? so I went back to sleep. Then I woke up and it was morning. I was soo panicked. I gues the next two times I learned how to handle it..I handled it by staying half asleep. But it frealked me out cus when I opened my eyes I like felt the bottom of my bed go up. and my arms went flying. I was like.. uhm? But then I never had those sleep paralysis again.
I asked my grandpa why this happens. He said, ur brain thinks that ur dreaming. And wont cooperate anf function. Its like ur eyes are awake. But ur brain is saying. HEY IM SLEEPING. And ur body wants to wake up, But ur brain doesnt. Now im bored and searching this stuff up. And I find this? But whatever.

hello, i too have experienced these episodes. I don’t know how many but i would say atleast 4 to 5 times throughout my life. My last episode happening like 3 months ago or so…it’s like whatever it is paralyzes you and you can’t open your mouth, your eyes, or move. i feel like it’s evil. As a matter of fact, the last time this happened i was praying and could hear another voice mocking me as i prayed. I feel like a pressure on me when this happens. Everytime this has happened to me, i always use prayer as a weapon to get rid of it. I pray in the name of Jesus. Prayer is powerful . my episodes have always started in the same way, it starts as if it feels like something comes on my bed. i always thought it was my cat coming on my bed but it wasn’t . Just always pray.

I’ve had the same paralysis.I feel like 4 chains are holding me by the arms and legs, and something’s plugging my breathing.I can still see,but I feel like a witch has taken control of my body and is taking my soul. When I can move,I breath in heavily because I couldn’t breathe. I felt scared when I couldn’t breathe or move. And the weird thing was when I could move, everything I said but sounded like I had tape over my mouth, came out and I couldn’t stop talking until everything I said came out.

  6. Matt says:

This is a scary situation but I hear its harmless. There are alot of things that can induce sleep paralysis. Sleeping on your back, medication or substance abuse, and irregular sleep patterns. It usually happens before I wake in the morning but i have had it happen about 5 times in a row when i was drifting off into sleep. That was the worst time. I stayed up for at least 48 hours after that. I have yet to see or hear another presence while it happens. Also apparently this is a start to astral projection or out of body experience hence the lud buzzing noise or tingly electricity feeling. when you feel that or hear that noise, its about to start. for example: if your moving away from the bed like a floating or sinking feeling thats when your astral body is lifting from your physical body. you’ll feel a strong resistance holding or pulling you back to the bed, that is the connection that keeps you attached to the body. Like if you lift up alot of times you’ll snap back as if something pulled you back to the bed very fast. if you can manage to escape that pull you can pretty much go anywhere you want with a thought. The buzzing, electric vibrating sensation is your cells rapid movement. Sounds crazy. I got so used to the paralysis that i just control my breathing and tell myself to wake up and ill eventually wake up. The worst part about it for me is the led blanket feeling over my whole body suffocating me. I read someones story that they were fighting with this and they happened to fall out of their bed and bounced right back into the bed! Now how could that happen? Has to be an OBE or their floor is a trampeline.

My mother passed away. Almost one week before I had this experience for the first tome in my life . I only told my sister later that evening because I couldn’t shake the feeling if it was real or a dream. I was laying on the couch one one night where my mother always slept. It felt like I went into a light sleep. I could still hear around me. I had a small fan beside the couch. That my mom always kept in the first bedroom for me because she knew I couldn’t sleep without one . It first started this shocking electricity feeling to my neck but I could hear a buzzing sound coming from the fan. It wasn’t causing no pain just freaked out. I thought the fan was shocking me. As I tried to get up. It felt like. A force or somthing had me held down. I couldn’t move or open my eyes I tried to scream. But nothing would come out. So after researching I have found similiar stories. But most with eyes open and not with the shocking feeling. Was this my moms spirit by me. I also read spirits need magnetic forces to show there self and my church going dad seen my mom that night by there bed the same time as I was having this experience . Am I going crazy?
