What an amazing recollection.
If the shade had shot up by itself, you would have likely heard it.
I believe you did see a French officer gazing toward the Front.

I think it’s possible you may have seen one too! Thanks for sharing this..I am always fascinated by both ghosts and historical settings.

I think that there are those souls that were defined by what they did during life. They’re actions are replayed over and over. Someone in the military, especially an officer, would be doing in death what was done in life…protecting their territory.
