Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

This happened a few years ago at a house on Green St. in Spokane. My boyfriend and his brother moved into this house together, and when I came over the first time, I got a really uneasy feeling about the place. I have always been sensitive to spirits, not really able to see them, but I can sense them, and I can usually tell if they are positive energy or negative energy.

Anyway, the house in itself looked creepy.  Even before I entered into the house I was getting feelings of wanting to go away.  My boyfriend just told me that I was being a baby about it, so I stayed. Weird things were always happening in this house but one experience my boyfriend and I had in this house one night will always be in my memories.

We went out for a little while and we arrived back at his place around 9 pm. We weren’t tired, so we were just going to hang out for a minute, then head back out to find something else to do. His brother wasn’t home, so we were glad that we had some time alone. We sat down on the couch, put our cigarettes and lighter down on the table, and turned on the stereo. Within 10 minutes, we both fell into a deep sleep on the couch.

We woke up about an hour later, and he went to grab the pack of cigarettes , but the lighter was missing. We searched everywhere, but we couldn’t find a single lighter anywhere. I decided to go watch a movie in his room (he had a better TV than in the living room), and he decided to light the cigarette on a burner on the stove. While he was waiting for the stove to heat up he came into the room to decide with me what movie to watch. He then went to light the cigarette, and came running back into the room and told me that when he went back into the kitchen all of the burners on the stove had been turned onto high, and were bright red from being hot. I thought he was playing a joke on me, and assuming that he turned them on himself, but he told me that he only turned one on, and not all the way to high.

When I went back into the bedroom, the movie had turned off, and the TV channel had changed to the local religious channel. At that moment, my boyfriend’s dog started to go crazy barking constantly and running back in forth from one end of the house to the other (this was really weird because the dog was usually really lazy, and never barked at anything). We heard a noise out the front door, and when we opened the front door we saw about 20 cats all around the porch and front yard. We went back into the bedroom, and closed the door. We then started to see a bright blue light flashing on and off outside of the door. We looked everywhere for something that would emit a light like that, but found nothing.

My boyfriend’s brother finally came home, and we tried to tell him what had happened. Their family has always believed in the supernatural (they are Native American, and his mom sees spirits all the time, but that is a different story), but his brother stupidly decided to yell and cuss at the entities in the house. My boyfriend and I decided that it was time to go into his room, and let his brother be and let him deal with what he may have just brought in. About 10 minutes later, we heard his brother run through the house to my boyfriends room, and said that he was not going to leave the room. He said while he was in the living room, he turned on the TV and the channels kept changing until it stopped at the same local religious channel.

After that, other little things kept happening. One time the TV was off, but it started to make a growling sound. The phone would ring, but no one would be on the line except the same growling sound that the TV made.

Outside of the house there was a small shed. There was a fence that went around the house, but the next door neighbor would always go through the fence and open the shed door if we ever closed it. We asked her what she was doing, and she just replied that the shed needed to be open. Once, we were in the living room and started hearing something hitting the outside of the house, we went to see and it was the neighbor chopping one of the window shutters on the house with an ax. When we asked her why she was doing that, she would say that it wasn’t us, but the house she needed to destroy it.

Also, in one of the closets there were little drawings that looked like they were from a little kid, but they were all sad faces. And also sometimes when his brother would be walking back from the store or something it would look like he was walking with someone, but when we would ask him who it was he would say he wasn’t walking with anyone. There were several other things that were in this house, and other things that have happened there, but there are way too many, and this story is already long as it is.

My boyfriend and his brother moved out within a couple of months, and within a few months it was boarded up and now has been demolished.  We tried to find history on that house, but can’t really seem to find anything. I’ve never experienced so much in one place before, and even when we drive by that area I still get the creeps.
