After thirty years of keeping this story strictly to ourselves, the Perron family has finally divulged a closely-guarded secret. The saga has been released to the public in the form of a trilogy. It is a collective memoir; one that chronicles the numerous events which occurred in our home between 1970 and 1980.
Volume One of “House of Darkness House of Light” is the supernatural tale of seven mortals who moved into an ancient farmhouse in Harrisville, R.I. We inadvertently embarked upon an extraordinary journey of spiritual enlightenment then left the farm a decade later, each fundamentally changed and absolutely certain that there is some form of existence beyond this realm.
Ed and Lorraine Warren became involved, investigating the haunting in the mid 70s, unleashing an unholy entity during a seance gone horribly wrong. The Warrens spoke often of their encounter, describing the Perron haunting as one of the most profound and compelling of their famous career as paranormal investigators.
Over the years many people have done their (un)fair share of speculation about what really occurred in our home and much misinformation has been spread around about this haunting. The book(s) clarify all. As the eldest sibling and the writer in the family, I took it upon myself to compile these many significant experiences and finally tell the truth to the world.
Elements of our story (from the Warren perspective) are now being developed as a film and when Hollywood came knocking a few years ago I KNEW it was time to tell our version of events before a special effects department began to portray us with these numerous apparitions. As the book was already underway, I relocated from R.I to Georgia to be with the rest of my family as I penned the noteworthy episodes and described the spirits we encountered as children.
It was quite difficult for everyone in the family to revisit the past but it was necessary. What we had all discovered over 30 years was, though we left the home of our dreams (and eventual nightmares) it never left us.
There are some things which are impossible to forget; images impaled in memory for eternity. The book is an unabridged account of consciousness-altering events. Peace be with you. Fear the living…not the dead.

Ummm I was wondering what house are we talking about?
Remember, this is a book review that was written by the author
I know… With all the books, documentaries, haunting & paranormal specials I have seen & read, the Warren’s name pops up allot and some of their cases… Just wondering if Perron’s haunted house was one of them???
CT I have a question how can I find my experience I posted on here a long time ago?
Hello LMC – You can go to //www.trueghosttales.com/paranormal/ghost-story-index/ and see a full list of all the stories. Perhaps you could browse through that. They are categorized by date. If you can recall the title you can do a search.
Thank you CT I’m not sure what the title was… Maybe it will come back to me???
How are you? It’s been awhile… Me I’m fine.
Reply to LMC ~ Ed & Lorraine Warren investigated the house (and our family) in the early 1970s and they have always considered it one of the most significant and compelling of a long and extensive career as paranormal investigators. They were unable to dispel the spirits from our home and in fact, inadvertently did more harm than good. Mrs. Warren is bringing her memories of this lurid investigation to the silver screen in a film entitled “The Conjuring” and contrary to what is posted on several websites around the world, this film is NOT based upon our memoir “House of Darkness House of Light” but is instead based on her own recollections of events which transpired in the house. Harrisville, Rhode Island is where the story is set and where it occurred between 1970 and 1980. Thanks for your interest. Sincerely ~ Andrea Perron
Oh I see… thank you for the information… looking forward to reading your book also the movie… although I am not a big fan of the Warrens sorry to say that.. I do beleive she is gifted it’s just I also believe she says demonic entities too much… I think she makes ghost and spirits mad by calling them demons. Don’t get me wrong she is a demonologist and she has battle demons I just think all of her encounters are not demonic, or should I say not all the ones she claims that are demonic, are demons… more like negative ghosts.
that is my oppinion besides that the Warrens are good and try to help as much as they can…. all though R.I.P. to Mr Warren. they do help people find peace.
Always walk with Peace & love in your heart,
LMC
How is it you wrote a book and you are collecting unemployment and food stamps???
Writing a book does not always make one wealthy. In fact it rarely does. Most writers make a very modest living and many are just plain dirt poor. Its the same with musicians.
i remember this……it’s for real….i grew up in the hey day of it all….i have seen bathsheba for myself……may be 5 or 6 years old……never forgot it…..scared and fascinated at the same time…andrea’s writing is true to the bone…you don’t really know until you experienced it…thankyou andrea….your freind annie
