Haunted House On Swartruggens Mine Part 2

Posted on May 18, 2009

Please read Part 1 before reading this part…

So anyway… as we hear what seemed like footsteps run downstairs, about two seconds after the sound disappeared, we heard Yolande scream downstairs. So Phillip and myself went back down stairs to find Yolande was half in a state because she saw somebody run past the kitchen entry where they were standing.

Yolande wanted to leave that very instant, but Johnny got her to stay a while longer. So we thought it might feel warmer in the house if we could try and talk to this lost soul, so we just started asking: ‘if there is anything besides us four here, to please show us all a sign. Nothing happened, so we asked it again, and then there was a very soft scratching sound, which sounded like it was coming from the floor. So we, from there, decided there will be no more splitting up, we all went to go and see the rooms that Yolande and Johnny never got to see yet.

We went into what seemed the spence, and than what seemed to be a washroom, there was a door that was closed. We went to open it and it had stairs that went downstairs. Not even the two boys knew about there being an underground floor as well, his dad told them it was only two floors.

We went downstairs slowly, and there was this awful smell, it smelt like burnt flesh, it was so sick. Yolande was close to throwing up. Now Phillip had the only flash light which was the one we used to see the path on our way here, but that was all we had. We followed Phillip but with great caution, We reached the floor and Phillip examined the room, it had no seperate rooms or any thing, just a room full of stuff, but for some reason Phillip looked at the ceiling, and believe it or not there where scratch marks on the ceiling. I have no idea as to how it got there, but they were real. The floor was concrete and the ceiling was wood.

So we decided to snoop through the things that were there. In a box we found a whole lot of toys, including about two dolls which seemed like somebody had cut out their eyes and ripped some hair out. And Johnny, on the other side of the room, found a Ouija board, with a note underneath it saying: ‘The cause of my insanity’

I told them its time to go and there was no way I was going to stay here and freak out. We all went upstairs half running and it sounded like there was a constant scratching that followed us all the way to the door. We opened the door and ran to the path, I looked back once more and saw what seemed like in animal on the top floor, staring directly at me.

There will be a part three. Thank you for reading my happening.

The German word for “double walker”. They’re basically like a paranormal double of yourself, or other people. They look, dress, and act just like a person. They are often know to causing problems for you, especially since people mistake them for being you.

And if you see your own, you will die. Having met mine in Sydney many years ago, I am still around, but its an interesting legend .. might be based loosely on ‘crisis apparitions’?

I read a few interesting stories in the book titled “GHOSTS,” which was authored by Hans Holzer. That book has several hundred pages, and hundreds of stories.

In one story, there was a young woman who was an educator. Seems that some of the faculty saw her working in a garden behind the school. Seems she was also seen teaching in a room over-looking the garden, where her double was still working in the garden.

In another story, some fellow saw his double waiting for the same train he was waiting on. He chased his double but could not catch him. I wonder why the double ran away.

There was a story about a certain man who was doing business in some other country overseas. His double was well known, and doing business using the same name. When the actual person arrived, he met several people that seemed to know him well. His double had been working there sometime during the previous month.

Looking back a couple of centuries, there was a story about a man who was being prosecuted for the death of another man I think. It could have been some other crime. Here is the problem. On the day that he presumably commited some sort of crime, his double was also seen in another town some several miles away.

This caused some controvesy during the trial. There were people who knew him well, and swearing they saw him in one town, and he was also seen in his own town at the same time. I wonder how they settled all of that.
