I bought this condo 5 years ago and from the beginning I have heard odd knocking noises behind my bed. Sometime the knocking starts at the beginning of the wall behind my bed and knocks all the way down to the end of the room. Sometimes its loud and sometimes gentle. On three different occasions, I heard what sounded like a stack of heavy books being dropped in my walk in closet by my bed. The first time I heard it I jumped straight up because I thought the shelving had all fallen but when I looked in the closet all was okay. I heard this type noise on two other occasions. A friend of mine was standing in my bedroom and we were talking and he heard the knocking noise and he was amazed. He shook his head and said I can't explain it. My sister was staying over night and she was sleeping on the couch in my loft because she was too nervous about the noises to sleep in the down stairs bed room by her self. I was in my bed asleep when she awakened me. The sofa she was on is backed up against another walkin closet. She told me she heard the knocking coming from the inside of that closet but she also heard scratching all the way down the wall. She said she told me "that's not funny," and when I didn't answer ( she thought I was playing a joke on her)she came and found me asleep. Not much sleep the rest of that night. I am use to the noises and most times its hohum but occasionally I get the chill bumps. On two occasions, I have almost left to go to my sisters but I didn't. Bringing me up to today. I was folding clothes and putting blouses on hangers when knock knock knock by my bed. I started talking to whatever and said we should try a morse code and see if we can communicate. I knocked back on the wall and waited but nothing. I then went into my closet to hang my clothes you guessed it knock knock on the back of the closet wall. This knock was a little shy almost childlike whereas the one behind my bed was a bit stronger. So who knows. I have tried to explain it away maybe chipmunks or squirrels in the attic but that won't fly either; house settling not consistent with those kind of noises.
