Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I would like to begin my story by just saying that I do not believe hauntings are spirits of humans who have passed on. I believe that in any case where there have been hauntings demons are involved.

When I was 13 years old my family moved into an old house which at the time I loved very much. Nothing much happened during the first couple of months that we lived there, but after that things started to change. My sisters and I would hear strange noises at night. I remember hearing feet shuffling across the carpet after everyone had gone to bed. There were at least two occasions when I would turn the light out and I would wake up because someone had turned it back on. I would ask my sisters if they had touched it, but they said that they thought I had turned it on. There were times when I would hear my hangers moving in the closet and my sisters reported hearing the same thing.

One particular night was the most terrifying that we had ever experienced. My sister woke me up one night completely frightened asking me if I could hear it. I asked her what she was talking about. She said she could hear what she described as a deep mournful breathing which would get louder and louder. I listened , but I still could not hear it. I believe to this day that the reason I could not hear the breathing is because I had asked God through prayer that I would never see or hear anything like that that would scare me because I would not be able to handle the fear. The breathing continued an my sister screamed and jumped into my bed. After that I became frightened and we both ran out of the room and spent the night in my younger sisters room. It wasn’t long after that night that my sister told me she had seen what looked like a shadow figure on the floor which looked like a small girl clutching her knees to her chest while rocking back in forth. She saw this when she heard the breathing.

After this my family had had enough. Even my mother had heard strange noises in the night. So, the morning after that horrible night, my mother took some oil and we all blessed the house with prayer asking God to protect us and to banish all bad spirits from the house. After that day we never experienced anything like that in that house again. I believe that the Lord answered our prayers.
