Great Grandmother’s Ghost - My Angel

March 29, 2008

You may not believe what I’m about to tell you, but this has all been proven to me so here is my “ghost” story.

My mom got pregnant with me at the young age of 16. My mama was very close to her grandmother (her father’s mother). From the stories I have been told she was a very sweet old lady and could not wait for me to get here.

Sadly she died just three days before I was born and since it was so close to time for my mama to give birth the doctors decided that it would be best for my mother not to go to the funeral because of the risk of putting stress on me and causing complications with my birth. My mama agreed but she did get to say her goodbyes when the doctors said she could see the body of her grandmother but not for long. When it was time for her to leave, she placed into the casket a gold necklace with cross on it that she had given her when she was little and left.

My great grandmother had left her house to my mama and that was the house that I came home to when I was born and that is the house I still live in to this day. But anyways, my family was so hurt over her death that they decided not to tell me about her or speak her name around me. Well, she must not have liked that because when I was a year old my mama said I woke up in the middle of the night screaming like she had never heard me scream before, but by the time she got up and into my room I had stopped and was fast asleep.

The next morning I was running around the house screaming in a sing song way my great grandmothers name. When my mama asked me where I heard that I led her into my room and under my pillow and pulled out the gold necklace with the cross. My grandfather decided that I should wear the necklace which I did for a while until it broke but I still have it put up in a box.

I still live in that house, I can’t ever imagine leaving it. I feel so safe there. I know she is there, little things she does mostly around Christmas time. She will make the lights on the tree go on and off.

My best friend that lives with me has seen her a few times. I warned her not to play the piano that once belonged to her but she did not listen and saw her later that day. Mama is the only one that can play it. She lets people know if she don’t like you she helped me get rid of a boyfriend mama once had by scaring him to death he still will not set foot in my house ha ha ha.

I have only seen her one time that I can remember, in December of last year I was riding around with my cousin and his girlfriend and we had a really bad wreck in the middle of nowhere and we all three were knocked out she got me out of the car and kissed me and told me she loved me. That woke me up and got my friends out before a small fire started in the car. If she had not been watching over me I don’t know what would have happened. I feel her everywhere I go, every second of every day. she is not a ghost she is my angel.
