Ghosts Are With You Wherever You Are

Posted on August 5, 2009

This is a classic story, but, it’s true. That makes it better. I was born in the summer of 1976, my Father was a realtor and my mother was a stay at home mom. At the time, my sister Hailey, wasn’t born yet. My grandmother, Georgia died, six days before my birth. She was found dead in her basement, sitting in her recliner, and had apparently just stopped living, everything in her just stopped. The old farm hand, had found her. My mother got the house, and her brother got the animals that lived on Grandma’s farm. Grandma’s house was about twice the size of my house, so my mother and father decided that it was a good idea to renovate the historical house and move in.

When we first moved in, I was two. My mother gave birth to my younger sister Hailey six months before we moved. At that point, my mother and father were very stressed, and fought often they occasionally got violent and my mother would throw dishes and my father would throw chairs down the stairs. I was eight when my parents divorced. Both of my parents stayed at the house, because they thought it was best for Hailey and I to have a somewhat stable home.

My first experience with the paranormal happened with my sister. Our parents were fighting, probably over money. When they fought I would lock myself and Hailey in a closet so she didn’t get scared. I felt Hailey’s fingers stroke my hair. She did that often to comfort me. We sat in the dark closet, both shaking. I realized then, that I had a firm grip on both of Hailey’s hands. It wasn’t her that was stroking my hair. Slowly, I looked up, to see a plump face, pale… extremely, it glowed, making it easily identifiable. An older woman, 60 or 70ish. Most likely my grandmother. I never got to see her, but I was in the place of her death so I expected that to be her.

The next experience was later on in my teenage years. My sister and I were very close. Our father had health problems in the past, but never fatal. But he was found in our basement, and the coroner said that he passed away due to a heart attack. My mother was extremely shaken up by his death but did her best to provide for Hailey and I. She became a receptionist at the local doctor’s office. My mother had always believed in ghosts and spirits, and after my father died we found her numerous time sitting in the candlelight talking to him, and when she saw we were watching, she just looked at us and smiled, with tear-filled eyes. My sister and I decided that we wanted to try and contact our father and grandmother.

Lighting two candles, and closing the window, I silently prayed that we contacted them, and they were ok. My sister sat down, and grabbed my hands. We began to summon the spirits of our relatives. My eyes we tightly closed, to keep out any disturbing images. But when I felt a gust of wind blow my hair, and a cold chill, my eyes popped open. I stared at my sister, who sat, pale as a ghost and wide-eyed. I whispered to her and asked her what she had seen. And she quietly said “them.” I glanced around them room, noticed that the window was open, but I had locked it… As soon as that thought crossed my mind, the window slammed shut. It sounded like the way my father would slam the doors when him and my mother were fighting. My father loved my sister very much, and reminded us of that often. As I sat in my shocked state, the wind, that seemed to come from nowhere, blowing wildly, I heard my father’s voice say “Girls, remember your daddy loves you, forever and al-” my sister let go of my hand. Everything stopped.

After many years of investigation, it was discovered that my grandmother was poisoned. By the farmhand, who she was secretly married to, and never told anyone. My mother passed away recently. This is the first time I have posted my story on the internet. Sorry if it confused you, it confused me too.

    Addalin,
My nose tingled with sour at reading your story. I would have hold you both little girls tightly in my arms in that dark closet.
I understood your father’s poignantly slamming the door ” why things should turn out like that!?” For sure, he had tremendous love on you both.
I think your mother finally understood. But concerning your father, I wish he had learned his way and phased through.

Sorry for all your losses. It appears grandmother had a sad death. that why there was fighting in the house. Sometime when people die like that they haunt the home. that brought negative forces in the home and caused your parents to fight. do you live in that home now. you have had two people die in that home no wonder it is haunted. I would have the home cleansed if you are still there.
