I’ve had an idea that my boyfriend’s house is haunted for some months. But I also have anxiety and every little noise scares me. A few things have happened to my boyfriend and I. He doesn’t believe in spirits so he dismisses them. This last occurrence is a little silly, but it scared the wits out of me, so I’ll tell it anyway.
My boyfriend and I had gone to bed a little early one Saturday night. We’d been asleep for a couple of hours and I crawled out of bed to go to the restroom. There is a small closet that separates his room from his roommate’s room (side note: his roommate’s family owns the house they live in). There is a bathroom in his roommate’s room and his roommate always crashes on the couch, so that’s the bathroom I use when I stay over. This house was built in the 1930′s, so there is no central air and that bathroom is always hot.
I sat down to try and… tinkle. I heard these random knocks coming from the other side of the wall where the kitchen is located. It almost sounded like someone hitting a ping pong ball. I listened for a few minutes and then I decided to knock on the wall. Three small taps. The “ping pong” knocks stopped and seconds later, three knocks hit the other side of the wall!
I jumped up and ran to wake my boyfriend up. Being the sweetheart that he is, he came to the bathroom with me so I could pee. I hadn’t been able to with all the knocking.
The next day I was telling his roommate about it and he told me that he had never heard anything in the house, but that he is afraid of “the yellow house” that his family also owns. My boyfriend still thinks it could be just regular house noises, but I’m not so sure. The only thing I’m sure of is that will be the last time I get up by myself in the middle of the night!

that is silly,but hey if your scared,your scared.nothing wrong with that.that is cute that your boyfriend did come with you the the bathroom.whats with the (yellow house)?i would like to hear about it.does the rommate sleep on the couch all the time or just when your there?if he does all the time maybe he knows more then he’s saying.thanks for the story.
Something similar happened to my sister. She went to the restroom to pee, and someone knocked on the door with urgency. She was the only person at home at the time.
I hear knocks alot too, usually in threes. Knock Knock Knock, I live in a house that’s 150 years old. The knocks come from all areas. Once I had a house guest sleeping upstairs and the knocks woke us both us. I have no idea what the purpose or meaning is.
Haha I like your boyfriend he got up with you to go to the bathroom. But anyhow… Im not laughng at you it was just your boyfriend when he got up with you that was really sweet. I bet hes a really nice guy. But anyhow you can see this ghost is completely harmless. And I would have been as scared as you if that happened to me. I probley would have jumped off the toliet five feet above. But there is nothing to worry about.
Thank you all for the comments! AnNa, I don’t know much about the yellow house. Its across the street from where they live and its old as well. My bf’s roomate will only say that it creeps him out. As far as him sleeping on the couch, its just the coldest room in the house ! Strong, DearTuffy, and Suzi- LOL the boyfriend is very sweet. Although he teases me about it. Strong, I hope your sister hasn’t heard anymore knock…you either DearTuffy! They creep me out! Suzi, I did jump a little, and am happy to report that I stayed this past weekend and didn’t hear anything!

Well who ever was on the other side of the wall knocking back to you obviously isn’t there to hurt you, the one thing I heard taps ( ghost hunters ) say while I was watching an episode, is that there is really no reason to fear spirits, there still the same person just with out the psychical body.
And if your boyfriend basically doesn’t believe the home is haunted then the next time you go over, bring a tape recorder and talk to the spirit ask it questions & you just might get a response. It might be frighting when you replay the recording but there’s nothing to be afraid of, the spirit is only responding to your questions.
And it seems to me like the spirits either playing around with you or trying to get your attention.
that is my ? are all spitis here to hurt us, or are they just saying hi. They just may need help? do you think this is the case?
I don’t think its there to hurt anyone or it would have already. It just creeps me out. And I don’t think I’m brave enough to even try EVPs or anything!
i also experienced ghostly knocks….
when i was with my brother in his room he was sleeping at that time and i was reading a book when suddenly heard 7 or 8 knocks from the wall
Nameless, I would have been so scared!! Did you ever talk to your brother about it?
well actually no, because at that time he was already asleep he was in a deep sleep i know it because the knocks are very loud
